All Hallowed Evening

Bonus Cat Blogging

Jack o' lanternWhether you celebrate Celtic New Year’s Eve [Samhain], the evening before All Saints Day [Halloween], or the anniversary of the posting of Martin Luther’s Ninety-Five Theses in 1517 [Reformation Day], have a happy one.

Wikipedia does its normally thorough job of covering all of the bases on the holidays that share October 31st.

These are my remembrances of a traditional American Halloween.

Locally COVID and the cold front following Zeta have eliminated normal activities for this holiday. No information on the ‘Autumn Festival’ across the street.

Awww. Is that one of your kitties? Luckily, I live in the boonies; no chance of trick or treaters. I hope the folks across the way are taking safety measures.

That’s Excise who was born next to my feet in the early morning of April 15, tax day, so he was named for a tax. While most cats have a green reflection from the flash, blue-eyed cats glow orange-red. He is still as much a mess as always.

I remember Excise! He’s grown. Why is he a mess? 🤔

Kryten, he learned how to ‘cat’ from Sox. That means he has all four feet in the litter box, but not his butt; he can’t stop after jumping and clears counters and tables; i.e. a mess.

Ahhhh! One of *those*! Mom had one of those when I was a teen. Clumsy and lacked the typical kitty grace. He always looked annoyed. Except with mom, she always took good care of him & he knew it, so he wasn’t stupid at least. 😉

Well… Good luck! the election results will take some time, especially with all the GOP crap. Going to be tough. 🙁

The soonest we are going to know anything definitive is probably Friday. Lots of mail in ballots and some states don’t allow any counting of ballots until election day. Stupid system.
