Their Worst Nightmare(s)

As the Republicans look at the definite possibility of losing the White House to the Democratic candidate in 2008, they are also beginning to notice that the individual could well be a woman, an African-American, an Hispanic-American, or a trial lawyer. I expect a lot of the wingers will choke on their Kool-Aid when this occurs to them.

You will notice, too, that all but one of the announced Democratic candidates is from the Northeast, Midwest, or West. If ticket-balancing and swing-states have anything to do with the presidential nominating process, I’d say that should shine a strong light on our own Senator Bill Nelson as a potential vice-presidential nominee. Just saying, that’s all. He wouldn’t be close to my personal top choice for being a heartbeat away from the presidency, but then I’m unlikely to have the privilege of selecting my own favorite.

Well, I’m tired of choking violently on my morning tea as I read the net and see the latest of six years of outrages, each worst than the last. Fair is fair.

Actually, John, I’d go with Debbie Wasserman-Schultz as a Florida VP, but then I like twisting the blade, and Debbie is one of the most responsive pols in Florida. Bill Nelson is not one of my favorite people for a couple of his votes.

As they say, Ellroon, payback is a bitch. They really deserve it if they can’t get someone worth looking at to run. The last time I saw a group of losers like the Reps have, it was a line-up for a purse snatching.

Oh, my. I’m betting some of them are getting a little upset by now. What a great thought!

OWL, I just hope they refine their messages on the use of military force against anyone, and return to the standard of evidence not belief.
