That’s not a cat…that’s a kangaroo! 😉

You need a new camera with a rapid-shooting mode. (Well, not really.) That Canon 20D, the DSLR that I’ve had on long-term loan from Catherine, will do that for you: set the mode, press and hold the shutter, and take shots so fast that Income can’t possibly out-blink the camera. (Then go recharge the battery, which poured out its charge through the flash…)
Even without Income’s eyes, that’s a cool picture.

He was grooming his stomach while hogging my chair. I beginning to suspect that the flash goes off slightly before the shutter, which is tipping them off.
If that were true, Jill, someone picked his pocket.
I agree with Jill he does have the look of a Roo… given his size, perhaps a Joey! You’ll capture those eyes one day Bryan!

You must be right. As one thinks about it, the flash has to do that, to give it a chance to expand to full brightness (or whatever the right brightness is) at the moment the shutter opens. The amazing thing is not that the cat sees it, but that his eyelids react so quickly.
(I can’t tell by looking if your cat is a joey or a johnny or a susie.)

I may need to use a photo light, Jams, or a SLR camera. Given the price difference, I’ll consider the light.
Steve, they don’t stop to consider options, they just do it. Actually, the flash really wasn’t necessary, but the camera insisted.
Too true, Jill.
Ouch! The bright lights hurt his eyes. What an amusing picture!
They should, he is stealing my chair.
