Movement: Northwest [320°] near 5 mph [ 7 kph].
Maximum sustained winds: 35 mph [55 kph].
Wind Gusts: 45 mph [ 70 kph].
Minimum central pressure: 1007 mb.

Currently about 360 miles [580 km] East-Southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River.

A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for the Northern Gulf from Destin, Florida West to Intercoastal City, Louisiana including New Orleans and Lake Pontchartrain.

They (NHC) said earlier they would probably issue a warning, and here it is. You’re clear of it; we’re on the very western edge of the “cone,” but frankly, at the moment, I’m expecting only a few thunderstorms from it. Louisiana looks likely to get the worst. Eyes open, Coast dwellers…

It looks like it will follow Bonnie’s path if nothing changes, and run up the Mississippi to New Orleans. The Louisiana marshes are going to get oiled again.

They have already shut down the rig drilling the relief well, so we’re still waiting and hoping they don’t screw up again.
