The Dumber They Are, The Harder They Run
The Local Puppy Trainer covers a man running for Congress in Florida’s 2nd district – Candidate: Islam is against everything America stands for
PANAMA CITY — A Congressional candidate told local high school and middle school students Tuesday that Islam’s plan is to destroy the American way of life.
“I’m totally against it. If I had my way, it would pretty much be over my dead body,” said Ron McNeil, a candidate for the U.S. House District 2 seat, who was referring to a controversial plan to build an Islamic center and mosque near Ground Zero in New York City. “That religion is against everything America stands for. If we have to let them build it, make them build it nine stories underground, so we can walk above it as citizens and Christians.”
Some people in the audience applauded McNeil’s response. However, one student appeared up-set and asked McNeil what gave him or the federal government the right to tell an American that they can’t build an institution.
“This religion’s plan is to destroy our way of life,” McNeil said.
The student responded by saying he did not feel it was a Christian’s place to determine whether Islam is right or wrong.
“It’s our place as Christians to stand up for the word of God and what the Bible says,” McNeil replied.
The last time I checked there isn’t a single reference to Islam in the Bible and a lot of references to being nice, and not judging. There’s also that document called the Constitution that allows non-Catholics to live in Florida, which wasn’t the case when the area was ruled by Spain. There have been Muslims in the United States since the country’s founding, so they aren’t working very hard at destroying our way of life.
I fail to see what a zoning decision in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City has to do with who represents Florida’s 2nd Congressional district. Oh, yes, dude, you were pwned by that kid when you couldn’t respond to his question.

What a retard, seriously!
just feed the moron to the fire-ants. He’s not even worth the cost of a bullet.
This is the class of people considered to be worthy of office on the Florida Panhandle. It really is a sad state of affairs.
Send this mor(a)n a copy of a photo of George W. holding hands with one of these “America haters” then watch the Troglodyte have to explain THAT.
Really. I’ve given up hope for our future.
“If I had my way, it would pretty much be over my dead body”? Well, Ron, that’s a peculiar wish, but hey, this is America; if that’s what you really want, it can probably be arranged…
Except that he was challenged by a student, Jill. That student’s attitude is in-line with libertarian principles and Christian principles, i.e. keep the government out of people’s religious choices, and “Judge not, lest ye be judged”. That’s the problem with educating children – they often believe what they are told and act on it, which is inconvenient for “conservatives”.
I know what you mean, Steve. 😈
…the ironic thing is that McNeil appears to be one of those superficial winger types that have spent more time thumping the Bible as opposed to actually reading it, because if he had done a little more of the latter, he would understand that most of it is an advocacy of destroying his – and most Republicans’ – understanding of the “American way of life”. The true meaning behind the thirteenth chapter of Romans would probably fry his eyeballs if he were to actually sit down and read it…
Jack, one of the most striking things about these people is how little familiarity they have with the New Testament. I have been to a number of different services for social reasons [generally, my Mother insisting because of weddings, funerals, or someone’s grandchild is going to sing], and all of their time is tied up among the prophets of the Old Testament. It is truly amazing, how little they know about the Gospels.
