Willful Ignorance

John Podesta responds to a Trump tweet with ‘Get A Grip’:

President Trump tweeted some unexpected news Friday morning from the Group of 20 summit underway in Hamburg, Germany: “Everyone here is talking about why John Podesta refused to give the DNC server to the FBI and CIA. Disgraceful!” Trump wrote.

Mr. Podesta points out that he was the Clinton campaign chairman and had no control over any DNC server. He was a victim in the incident. In addition Trump isn’t aware that the CIA doesn’t have authority in internal US investigations.

Putin is the only one at the meeting that might even care.

Biggest difference between them: Podesta speaks as if he can claim more than two brain cells in actual use. Trump may not be a terrorist, but he does terrify me.

Unsurprising. He has no idea how anything works. Twitter has gone nuts over Ivanka taking over for him @ G20 while he (apparently) decided on a private chat with an Indonesian leader. Was there a golf course involved?

Ivanka Trump Took Over For Her Dad At The G20 Summit And Twitter Is Outraged

This One Tweet Sums Up The Big Problem With Ivanka Trump At The G20 Summit

My favorite tweets:

“Ivanka Trump, unelected, unqualified, daughter-in-chief, is representing the US at the G20 summit next to May, Xi, Merkel. ”

“Yes, she’s beautiful–but unqualified. When Caligula tried to appoint his horse Consul of Rome, it was a beautiful horse.”

“Telling that pic of Ivanka at G-20 table was posted by Russian staff. Russians knew would: 1. be deemed controversial; 2. get us going in US”

And this… From an Aussie journalist that we Aussies fervently wish would apply the same critique to our moron-in-charge! Perhaps he will…

Just in, before I hit the sack. 🙂 Thought you’d find this amusing, or maybe just interesting but unsurprising, Bryan. 😉 😀

U.S. officials say Russian government hackers have penetrated energy and nuclear company business networks

Ivanka is probably better qualified than her father at these conferences. Trump can barely handle one-on-one meetings without major screw ups and Ivanka won’t ‘burden’ him with details..

Welcome back, Steve. It isn’t difficult to appear brighter than Trump, just present the well documented facts, something Trump can’t handle.

Yes, Kryten, I’ll be piling on because Australian Br0adcasting political editor Chris Uhlman is spot on in his coverage of the “G-19 + some dazed old guy” meeting.

Thanks, Bryan. Good to see you, Kryten. Things being what they are, I’m visiting you on my iPhone because for all its flaws, more of it works than what works on my old (read: dead, soon-to-be-replaced) computer.

Trump is a piece of work. The rest of his family is, at worst, a bunch of liars little different from the worst of Republicans (and too many Democrats these days). You can tell my cynicism is diminishing because I’m back on the political web (not quite up to blogging yet, but give me time) and accumulating spit enough to cover some of our public officials’ faces. Ptui!

“G-19” is just right for that bunch. Nineteen of them have enough gumption to admit we’re in deep doo-doo (thanks, George 42) and to remind Americans we’re neither more nor less essential to the body politic of the world than ancient Rome was.

Hi Steve! (Sorry I missed your comment above!) I hope you & Stella are doing well (or at least,as well as can be expected. Sadly these days, that seems the best we can hope for!) Good luck with the new PC. As you know, I had to bite the bullet on a new PC @ end of 2015. I took out most of my Superannuation, because I decided I may as well get as much old stuff replaced (fridge, washing machine, microwave etc.) or buy things I’ve wanted/needed for awhile (Coffee Machine!!). 😉 😀

Mr. Ed is more qualified to speak, let alone make any sense, than 45 or his family. *shrug* Same goes for our Turdbull!

One thing laughable here is the the previous PM was in fact ineligible to be elected, or even be a member of Parliament, due to a rule that explicitly states a member cannot hold a dual citizenship. Abbott has both UK & Aus. citizenship. He claims he officially renounced his UK citizenship, but never provided proof. An FIO request for a search in the UK found no evidence his citizenship was revoked. Yet, he’s still has a seat & is challenging Turdbull for the PM seat! We are as insane & hypocritical as the USA. *shrug*

You mentioned problems before, Steve. I’ve had a lot of luck with refurbished from Amazon, as I need machines for old versions of Windows. For under $200 I could get a box that fitted my requirements. I have Ubuntu Mate running on my Raspberry Pi 3, with LibreOffice and FireFox, so there are options out there that aren’t outrageous.

Trump’s whole crew only knows how to sell real estate and projects. They have to get their funding from other countries because they have burned US investors with bankruptcies. Russia, Germany, and China own Trump/Kushner.

There is a point where you wonder what you are saving it for, Kryten.

Apparently all it takes to run for office any more is gall, because no one bothers to enforce the rules.

Talking about gall, you probably heard about Governor Christie’s beach outing. Now they’ve done a survey in New Jersey, and New Jersey residents use four-letter words to describe the governor. Says one survey-taker:

“It really is difficult to drive approval ratings into the single digits barring something like a criminal conviction. However, you have to admire Christie’s seeming tenacity for trying to get his numbers down to that level.” — Patrick Murray, director of the independent Monmouth University Polling Institute.

Heh.

The level of arrogance among this new ‘breed’ of Republicans is out of the Twilight Zone. I live in a beach/tourist area, and shutting down a 4-day Fourth of July is a massacre for the small vendors who depend on Memorial Day, the Fourth, and Labor Day to make their real profit. It was just mean. There was no reason for him to veto the budget, he was finished with elective politics before the budget fight.
