Unit Cohesion?
On the 69thanniversary of Truman ending segregation in the military, Trump bans transgender individuals from serving in the military.
Serving transgender members of the military are unaware of any problems that need to be solved.
Some wonder if it’s about a recent Tucker Carlson show linking trans people with child abuse, while others wonder if it was caused by a split in the House Republican caucus over medical services for trans members of the military.
If Trump had discussed this with the military, the Pentagon wouldn’t have been so totally unprepared to deal with questions from the media. This was proclaimed in a tweet, and has no real power until it shows up as an executive order, but has already reduced readiness and disturbed unit cohesion over an issue that people assumed had been settled.

The unofficial back channel organs of the military leadership aren’t happy at all. Even God’s Own Flying Club seems to be annoyed.

Apparently Trump gave Mattis a 24-hour heads up, but he didn’t have time to schedule a Joints Chiefs meeting. There was a process, and it was moving along. The military needs time to change direction. The asshole in chief doesn’t understand the concept of ‘chain of command’.
He doesn’t understand anything, so why surprised? 😉

Scaramucci was a hedge fund manager and TV talking head. He will get taken out when Saturday Night Live finds someone to play him. He is a satire of New York City Italians. He is playing a stereotype, and Trump will tire of him.

He’s a jamoke who wants people to think he’s a cumpa [pronounced goombah]. That’s why he takes his style from John Gotti and talks like a Mario Puzo script. Maybe Joe Pesci could be talked into playing him on SNL…

These guys are so mean-spirited that Reince Preibus is lucky to have been fired. Trump has grabbed another general, probably because they are so deferential to him. Trump is falling apart before our eyes and is hoping to staunch the flow of bad news. He really can’t handle ridicule.
Trump appears to think he’s in a reality TV show, and he has to say “you’re fired!” once a week to one of his underlings as part of the show. That’s all I can figure. The good news for Jeff Sessions last week was that Priebus was last week’s sacrificial goat to the reality TV President. Maybe next week will be Jeffy’s week…
He has been warned that if he fires Sessions he won’t have a hearing for a new Attorney General this year. He has been attacking the Senate and Reps and Dems close ranks on that. They will hold their fake meetings during recesses so he can’t make a recess appointment. The Interior Department may never get another appointment or budget after Zinke’s ‘nice little state you got here’ threat to Alaska.
One of the reasons McCain voted no was the way Trump attacked him, Trump just doesn’t know how Washington works.
