Maybe it’s my imagination, but Ringo looks somewhat hardened by the experience. I’m glad she’s back, and I hope and assume she learned something.
Actually, she’s worn out in the picture and has been eating and drinking like a horse since she came inside. She also has “gas issues.”
Is she fixed? Looks like she may have had a litter somewhere….
She is not fixed, but it high on my list of to-do. She hasn’t had time to have a litter, but she is a single coat cat.
She really does have an “I’m here and what ya gonna do about it” look on her face

Her owner came to get her last night (after she’d been with us for a week), and promised (again) that they’d fixed things so she couldn’t get out.
Uh-huh. That lasted about 24 hours. She was back on the balcony this afternoon. I let her in. She took a quick snack, used the litter box, played around (ie, helped me try to find something I’d dropped under the sofa) for a while, and then went out again. She stayed on the balcony for an hour or so, watching the birds, then disappeared.
Maybe Ringo has a part-time cat-mama, too.
I had no idea she had gone “renegade.” I, for one, am very glad she has returned. She seems more suited to being an indoor cat.
Jams, she has always been a bit too smug for her own good, but she had to sneak back in to get by the local crew that “owns” the area around my house.
Anya, I think she has been hanging back in the vicinity, but had to overcome the fear of the outside feral cats to make a dash for the back door. She is not exactly Miss Congeniality around people, or cats for that matter. It sounds like you have a permanent part-timer.
The problem, CG, it while the climate change has produced warmer that normal weather in the northeast, we’ve actually had some record breaking cold snaps, three new lows in December. She doesn’t have a winter coat, just the single coat, so she needs other cats or a heater to stay warm. I don’t believe in caging things, other than for protection, so it was her choice.
I’m glad she decided to come back inside. She is such a cute cat.
