- Col de la Croix Neuve Montée Jalabert 191.0 km (Cat 2: 3.0km @ 10.2%)
The intermediate sprint is at 50.7 km at Yssingeaux.

The basic fact is that climbs fall into five types, with the four numbered types decreasing in difficulty as the numbers get larger, and then there is the Hors Catégorie, literally “without category”, which generally makes you look for an elevator or Sherpas.
