When Will They Ever Learn?

According to the BBC: Another Obama cabinet pick quits

Republican US Senator Judd Gregg is withdrawing as President Barack Obama’s nominee for commerce secretary.

Mr Gregg made the decision because of policy differences with the Obama administration, he said in a statement.

Obama just doesn’t get it – bipartisanship means doing it the GOP’s way. They bent over backward to accommodate Gregg, including guaranteeing that a Repub would replace him in the Senate, and then he sticks in the shiv. If Gregg didn’t want the job, or didn’t like the policies, he could have turned it down immediately. This was about screwing up the process and embarrassing Obama. What, did it take until today for Gregg to figure out that Obama was elected as a Democrat?

Hmmm… Lessee… since I’m in a Daffy Duck quoting mood today… Something appropriate from the master of disaster… Hmmmm…

How about: “Sufferin’ sassafrass. I’ve been sabotaged.”
and: “The nerve of some people. Profiting from other people’s miseries.”

or, how about: “Well I’m here, what’ve I missed? Massacre started yet? Fireworks going off? Balloon going up?”

Hmmmm. Not quite there… How about Yosemite Sam? 😀
“Ya no good bushwackin’ baracuda!”

😉 LOL

Ahhh!! I know! I know… Foghorn Leghorn! 😀

“We have been flim-flammed.”
“This is gonna cause more confusion than a mouse in a burlesque show!”
“Adios you chicken-pluckin’ little stinker! ”

Yup! Much better. 😀

In Peanuts [the comic strip, not the diseased alleged food] Obama keeps letting them pull away the football. No matter how often they do this to him, he acts like the next time they’ll change.

This is who they are, and what they do. They have gained power doing it, and they believe they can regain power doing it. Until all of the current GOP leaders are gone, this is their game plan – tee it up, and snatch it away.

As soon as he stops falling for it they complain that he lied about being “inclusive”.

Actually Bryan (to be serious for a bit… I was having fun for a bit)…

I don’t think Obama is that stupid… a tad naive and inexperienced perhaps, but not stupid. He may (as LadyMin has mentioned to me) have done it on purpose so he can say “well, I tried. See… you can’t reason with them.” 😉 Ya never know. 🙂

I think his biggest problem is his staff. I don’t think his staff is up to their jobs, especially his chief of staff. I don’t think he is getting good advise, and hope he realizes that quickly. His staff is supposed to be doing the vetting, and they have been falling down on the job.

I also said that the only people left that think Obama lied about being inclusive are the 20% of the country that worship at the alter of faux news. And those people will never believe anything other than that anyway.

I agree about his staff. They really have to step it up a notch. Assume everyone has secrets and an agenda and find out what it is, or it will come back to bite them.

I think you have a point there judging by the number of silly mistakes so far.

“This boy’s more mixed up than a feather in a whirlwind.” 😉

It’s almost like everyone has had a memory wipe about what happened to Bill Clinton. The same thing is happening to Obama, and the staff should have anticipated it. The Republicans are going back to their Clinton game plan, and it is time to set up an appropriate defense.

I live in New Hampshire. I, for one, am not surprised that Mr. Gregg took days to figure out that he and Pres. Obama don’t agree on much. A friend of mine had to deal with Mr. Gregg when he was governor, and his opinion of Gov. Gregg was that it was always wise to bring one’s own crayons.

You would think that people would insist on tests for IQ and mental health before people ran for office, but that would wipe out the political class and most of the media.

There really does need to be an improved vetting system, because asking about possible blog entries while ignoring tax issues isn’t going to cut it.
