Yep. Getting my beads out.

I have never understood the bead thing. The Moon Pies you can at least eat, they’ll probable kill you, but they are edible.

I guess it’s just a tradition.

Me… I don’t care. I just like the pic! Made my day. LOL

(I still have this lousy cold and feel like *you-know-what*. SO I’ll take what I can get!) 😀

I must say that when Katrina wiped out NO, I was very sad. I’d had the opportunity to go to Mardi Gras when I was in the USA, but I decided on going elsewhere. I always just thought I’d have a chance to go some other time. Guess not. *sigh*

I did get to see the Polynesian Pride Festival & the Aloha Festival and some Jazz in SF! Not quite the same… But SF is a party town too! I love Seafood… So I loved the place. 😀 I was on the way to Santa Cruz actually, and an earthquake hit and the back of the house I was in disappeared! I made the decision after that, that CA would be the last place on the planet I’d live! And I’d need a darned good reason to visit. I’d been in Cruz a week before the event, and I’d really liked the place, I was even thinking it’d be a nice place to live. Oh well. 🙂 But then, I used to think Melbourne (Vic AU, not FL) was a nice safe predictable place to live. I don’t think such a place exists any longer. Mother Nature is having serious PMS if you ask me! Can’t say I blame her… The Human experiment is clearly a massive failure. Hopefully, she’ll do better with the next lot.

Actually, the “Addicted To Love” post says something that people who don’t hang around animals in a natural state wouldn’t realize: it is too early for a dog raised outside in the Yukon to go into heat. The same with the feral cats, they are having kittens a month earlier than they should. Animals sense the world, and they are telling us that things are definitely screwed up.

The Big Easy is coming back but it will take a century before it is what it was. Katrina missed New Orleans and slammed into the tip of the Louisiana “boot” and Mississippi. The levees and Federal response did in the city. There was minimal damage in the city as a direct result of the hurricane, If the levees had been constructed to their design specifications, people could have moved back the next day.

There are always problems, no matter where you live, but they do seem to be getting worse. It’s the Hedgemony’s fault. We didn’t have these problems when Clinton was President. [even though we had to walk five miles through the snow to get to school, uphill both ways, and you kids get off my lawn!]

Ahhh….Moon Pies. I had tons of them as a kid when we “wintered” in Florida.

They are terrible these days. Things were better before we discovered “Better Living Through Chemistry”.

Bryan, I had moon pies “back in the day” and they were just as chemistry-based then as they are now, we just didn’t care because they were sweet and yummy and we were young and stupid. So it goes…

Dunno from moon pies… But I know we have our share of evil, nasty things kids love! 😀

Hmm… Speaking of evil & nasty things… Strike two for the Rupert! That sucker is sinking faster than the titanic. LOL (Yes, I am enjoying this)

Rupert Murdoch apologizes for racist Obama/chimp cartoon

I don’t give a rat’s about the supposed ‘apology’ (except that it’s a great sign of his desperation, since his own Son’s left him because he refused to apologise and other issues).

What a nice guy that Rupert Murdoch is. He’s finally stepping up to the plate and taking responsibility for all the vitriol directed at Barack Obama by his multiple media outlets. It’s nice to see that there are no ulterior motives at play here. Oh wait, spoke too soon.

Rupert Murdoch’s apology — the first I can recall him making, for anything — for printing a cartoon that offended many is a seismic event at the New York Post and News Corp., and comes at an unsettled time: Yesterday, the company’s stock fell more than 4% on news that his longtime number two, Peter Chernin, is leaving.

Don’t let that door hit your ass on the way out! LOL

Actually, I ate them in the 1950’s, and no one down here could afford chemicals, even if they knew they existed. US-98 was the only road along the coast and it was two-lanes. Those were the days when baked goods could actually go stale and “day old bread” had some meaning. They were in waxed paper sealed with a sticker and expensive, maybe even a dime, so it was necessary to share with my brothers. There were a lot of chores involved in getting a whole dime. Remind me again how these were the “good old days”.

Well, News Corp had to be in a panic, Kryten, when you look at the audience for their Fox Television line-up. A boycott could be ignored at the Post, but Fox would take a major hit at the same time Fox News is going down the drain. Murdock has problems all over the world and really didn’t need anything else to deal with. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. 😈
