As Predicted

From Australian Broadcasting: Crews fight 4 major blazes as temperatures rise.

The rising temperatures and winds are fueling the fires. The crews are working to contain the fires until conditions improve later today, but that improvement will come with shifting winds and possible dry lightning setting new fires.

Rain, and a lot of it, is the only real cure, and no one realistically sees that happening anytime soon.

The Governator just declared a state of emergency here in “Kahly-For-Nee-Yah”
for our lack of water.

We had a record-setting amount of rain last night. Over 2 inches. Flooding everywhere. At one point it was raining at the rate of one inch per hour. That broke a 110 year old record.

Climate change appears to be happening faster than we thought… that is, if you believe in that sort of thing.

And I’m waiting for the once-a-month cold front that has been occurring once-a-week. The average rainfall for February is 0.11 inches. So far we have had 3.03 inches with more on the way today. I think 30 times as much as is normal is rather excessive and we don’t have any way of storing it or shipping it somewhere, where it is wanted.
