Friday Cat Blogging

What are you doing?

[Editor: This young tuxedo female eyes me warily because I don’t have food in my hand. If I had the familiar container instead of a camera, she would be under foot. {It’s only the inside cats that blink.}]

She is a beauty. How many feral cats live by you Bryan?

Currently there are no more than about dozen, but the males have a large range, while the females protect a territory.

Most of the ones that are in this area are too smart to be trapped, but I have some success with socializing a few of the kittens and getting them adopted.

Aw! What a cute kitty. She looks like she might have been interrupted from napping. I’ve always been partial to the tuxedo cats. I had one, years ago. What a wonderful kitty.

This was in the afternoon and they were getting ready for dinner.

The best time to socialize them is between 3 and 7 weeks, but they are usually in hiding with their mothers during than time, so it is a hard thing to do.
