It is about 1330 miles East of the Leeward Islands.

Have I mentioned that this is the busy part of the Hurricane Season?

The former Invest 97L that became Tropical Depression Nine has become a tropical storm.

It also appears that Invest 99L shows some promise at becoming Josephine. There could be hurricanes all over the place by the end of the week…

It is getting busy.

The wonks know think that Gustav moving on shore and away from Hanna is the reason it has the burst of development. Apparently Gustav’s large wind field was providing a major portion of the wind shear.
