Nice Or Nasty?

Mitch McConnell called a halt to his negotiations with Harry Reid over a continuing resolution and raise in the debt ceiling, so John Boehner could create a bill in the House. The real question is – was McConnell doing it as a courtesy to Boehner, or did he just want to see him fail again so he could whip Republican Senators into line?

Boehner’s attempts resulted in a bill that no Democrat would go near, so he needed his caucus to support him, and, as is now normal, they didn’t. This is why it is worthless to negotiate with Boehner – he can’t deliver.

The Senate will probably have a bill tomorrow, but the only way this can end is for Boehner to put it on the floor for a vote. If he does it, the NRPS whackoes will call for his head, if he doesn’t there will be another financial meltdown.

If he doesn’t want to go down in history for all of the wrong reasons, Boehner should call for the vote, and after it passes, announce his retirement. The job isn’t worth the aggravation.

But then he won’t get to golf with the President and other bigwigs every weekend!

If will excuse me if that would be one of the main reasons I would quit. i.e. no longing having to play golf with anyone.

Yeah, but you’re not a suck-up sycophantic loser like John Boehner. The only thing that gives his life meaning is feeling important in front of people who are better than him, and he is reluctant to give that up.

He could get the same thrill taking a Cub Scout Pack to a miniature golf course in Ohio, if that’s all that’s bothering him. 😈

Oh believe me, I’ve met plenty of people like Boehner (they call them “senior executives” here in the Silly Cone Valley 😈 ), and cub scouts just won’t do. He has to look important in front of *real* important people. The fact that he’s a suck-up loser is what makes him want so much to look important. Sorta like a couple of ex-CEO’s of HP, now that I think of it :).

Speaking of ex-CEOs some media tool had Carly Fiorina on to opine on the effect on business of the political mess in DC. She’s right up there with Trump. Why do they bring losers on to discuss real problems? These are people who have proved they are incapable of handling real problems. How many major corporations do you have to destroy … how many bankruptcies do you have to have before the media can figure out you are a loser?

This is why I hate American media – it has no quality control of any kind.

Regarding Boehner… I noticed last night, even before the vote, there was talk among Democrats of how they would support and preserve Boehner’s speakership for as long as the GOP controlled the House. A more sensitive guy might get his feelings hurt by talk like that!

Ouch! It sounds like some people really intend to get to get some revenge by blocking Boehner’s removal. I think the Dems should support Ted Cruz as Speaker of the House. That is actually Constitutional, as there is nothing that requires the Speaker to be a member of the House, and it saves money, as Cruz can’t accept the Speaker’s salary since he’s a sitting Senator. If he resigned his Senate seat he still couldn’t get the extra money that the Speaker receives because that would be a raise, that can’t take effect until his Senate seat is up for its normal election in 2018.
