Wrong!
1. He didn’t think this through:
In a tweet on Wednesday, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd warned that “sworn LEOs will be at every shelter, checking IDs.” Judd said that in addition to weeding out sex offenders, officers would be apprehending anyone with an outstanding warrant.
It’s been a long time between hurricanes, so I guess he forgot. Yo, Sheriff, exactly what makes you believe you are going to have a jail after getting hit by a category 5 hurricane?
For out-of-staters, in Florida registered sex offenders are required to live under Interstate bridges away from population centers and that do not have school buses drive over them. Be advised that the particular definition of “sex offender” used by the registry may or may not include what most people consider a “sex offense”, and Florida still doesn’t have a bestiality law. 😈
2. Last night’s low was in the 60s and at 10:30AM it was 72° – in Florida – in the first week of September. Don’t try to tell me there is no climate change.
3. Florida emergency operations really got serious after the problems in the response to Hurricane Andrew, so the state, despite the governor and legislature, is in good shape to respond to Irma. This is fortunate, because FEMA is almost broke and has most of its resources tied up in the Harvey response. The shortages of water and fuel are a result of Harvey as much as panic buying.
Update: Oh, yes – Rushbo should just sit on his ass in Palm Beach and ignore the liberal conspiracy of hurricane warnings. It will warm my heart knowing that he is sitting and sweating in the dark with nothing to to relieve his thirst, no way to leave, and not enough cash to buy anything to eat. He probably doesn’t remember that credit/debit cards don’t work without power. Even with screens, the mosquitoes will get in. 👿

Yeah, the sudden temperature change last night and today had me looking over my shoulder, even though it feels nice after the high temp/humidity and constant thunderstorms of this year’s summer.
I had a hard time sleeping because the air conditioner didn’t start all night, and then I checked the outside thermometer when I made my first cup of coffee and it was below 70. Yes, it is nice to get some fresh air inside, but it definitely isn’t normal this time of year.
The Limp one has already fled the State after having stocked up on his “medicine “, food and essentials. Let’s not forget …he is very wealthy. And will not experience any discomfort. Those that listen to him …well … that’s it! Oh well.
With luck there will be no reason for him to return to Florida, not that I wish the normal people in Palm Beach any ill will. They didn’t invite him to move there.
By the way, the good folks of New Hampshire are sending you all a couple truckloads of bug spray. Hope that helps.
That would be appreciated, because someone is hoarding Tiki torches that usually deal with the problem while you are cooking outside. The first few days are big meals as everyone is cooking the contents of their refrigerators. I have a friend who stocks up on ice cream so she has an excuse for overindulging- she doesn’t want it to go to waste. 😉
