There are a lot of people who don’t want you to vote if you are not a well-to-do white male Protestant. It has taken almost two hundred years to force them back into their caves for the most part, but they come shuffling out every so often to annoy people and we have to remind they aren’t in charge any more.

I believe they are easy to find on the ballot — they have “R” after their names!

I’m a poor, disabled, elderly white woman who is decidedly not “Christian.”
I voted, anyway. 😀
There used to be decent people with R’s after their name, like the late Jacob Javits who was a Senator from New York and who opened the Senate intern program to women. Alas, people like that are eliminated in the primaries these days.
I badger tenants about registering and voting. I don’t ask which party they support, I just want politicians who are backed by a majority of the people they represent, unlike Trump.
Well, Anya, you have a bigger effect on Presidential candidates than I have down here, but I vote anyway.
I filled out my ballot on my kitchen table Saturday night, and dropped it into the ballot box in front of City Hall on Sunday morning.
As for why it can’t be so easy elsewhere… where, there’s one political party that wants you to vote, and one political party that wants only rich white male property owners to vote, and my state is governed by the political party that wants you to vote. Duh.
As expected, the GOP are in full tilt SHENANIGAN mode. I’ve been up all night keeping my T followers updated on a whole bunch of issues. here’s some highlights:

OK! It may be 10:30 AM here, but my body & mind are screaming “BED TIME!!!” So… G’night all! 😉 👋🏾🛌🏾😴
Oh! Bill Maher posted a tweet that attracted a Red loving Islamic Trump/GOP loving troll (I kid you not!) So I had to respond! (you’ll need to scroll down a few replies, but not far. His Twitter name is Zaki Bouhkbouhk). One guy liked my two responses anyway! Enjoy! 🤣👋🏾

It looks like we will have about 63% of registered voting casting a ballot which is below the 75% we had for the 2016 election. We have 135k registered voters out of a population of 192K people. The registration normally takes place when you renew/receive your drivers license or state ID card.
Go to bed, Kryten. This thing isn’t going to be settled for days.
Well, McConnell is the winner here. He got what he wanted. He never did care what happened to the House, it wasn’t his problem or where his power lies. He doesn’t even care if the POTUS is Dem or GOP. *shrug*
Still, with control of the House, at least the Dem’s can reign in Trump & begin subpoenas etc. But honestly, Trump is now the least problem. In fact, I strongly suspect that McConnell welcomes it! He always worked better behind the scenes, & loves a good distraction for the masses!
The Senators serve a 6-year term with one-third elected every two years. The vast majority of seats in this cycle were Democratic, so they had the most to lose. The Dems who lost have been trying to stay on the fence, to be Republican Lite. Hopefully the Democratic Party will figure out that to win, you have to get candidates who really are Democrats and act like it.
Well, looks like Florida fulfilled my expectations, anyhow. Which were low, and fully fulfilled by the results of the Senate and Governor’s races.
I had hoped for better from San Diego county. Duncan Hunter fils is even more corrupt than his dad, but they reelected him. At least Dana Rohrbacher (R-Kremlin) is gone.
