"There are two novels that can change a bookish 14-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

i’m waiting for the fishing bulldog robo-bat myself.
.-= last blog ..Your money or your life! =-.
I can’t see a bat being nearly as much fun, or as potentially destructive as the ‘Roo.
the roo is cute, i’ll give it that.
but we could outfit the bats with lasers for eyes….

Too much power required for a truly worthwhile laser. Sure, you could blind people, but leaving behind a molten puddle is a much better effect.
I guess it’s OK, as long as you don’t need the device to be scalable…

It’s a damn good thing it’s not scalable. Imagine something like a main battle tank leaping and landing like that… such a thing should never be available to bored GIs – trust me on that.
