The BBC tells us that MAC-V MNF-I is claiming that Iran ‘behind Green Zone attack’
The most senior US general in Iraq has said he has evidence that Iran was behind Sunday’s bombardment of Baghdad’s heavily fortified Green Zone.
Gen David Petraeus told the BBC he thought Tehran had trained, equipped and funded insurgents who fired the barrage of mortars and rockets.
He said Iran was adding what he described as “lethal accelerants” to a very combustible mix.
There has as yet been no response from Iran to the accusations.

General, your spokesweasels have already been exposed for manufacturing evidence for show-and-tells on Iranian munitions, so don’t try it again. I realize that Cheney just stopped to tell you that you’ve had a nice career and it would be a shame if anything happened to it, but everyone who knows the difference between Shi’ia and Sunni, which eliminates John McCain, knows that this is bovine excrement, horse pucky, cow pies, road apples. There is no reason for Iran to get involved with hitting the Green Zone because its allies control the current psuedo-government of Iraq and they are in the Green Zone. If it’s Shi’ia doing the attacking. then it’s elements of Mahdi Army, who are also anti-Iranian.
It is most probably former member of the Iraqi army using some of the millions of tons of munitions that Rumfeld didn’t think were worth seizing and guarding when the country was invaded. Old soldiers never die – they fade into the country side and become guerrillas.

They are still pushing for another damn war, as if they haven’t killed enough people already.
Of course it was Iran. If they’d wanted to go to war with Syria, it would have been Syria. Jeesh!!
Today’s news makes it highly probably that it was the Mahdi army that did it, and they oppose foreign intervention of any kind.
