Aarr they be eating hearty so they be salty sea cats and not scurvy dogs!
KITTIES! SQUEEEEEE!
That’s the alpha tom cat eating from the other half, and that kitten barely escaped getting batted into next week when it tried to push him out before the food dropped into the lower bowl.
Those “KITTIES!” will slice and dice you, LK. They are feral and not the lovely, cuddley, balls of fuzz people think when they see them.
Humans may sometimes enjoy having their ear nibbled, but I hope that kitten was not mistaken for a snack by the alpha tom. I suppose the kitten learned a lesson: if you’re going to interfere with someone’s food supply, be sure they’re smaller than you are, or you’re meaner than they are.
Her brother, who is cautiously hanging back in the picture, took care of the excess as soon as Grey Nose, the alpha tom, left. The way that little grey eats wet cat food she generally has a meal all over her head when she’s done and she and her brother groom each other.
that’s pretty much what my crew do, gobble up what they can, and then bond over licking the remains of the meal off each other’s ears, and shoulder blades, and…
After the crew started on solid food I don’t think Ringo even bothered to challenge for food, knowing she would get a meal cleaning up her “kids”.
