The Book Is Closed

Today was the last day for registration to vote in the November general election in Florida.  If you missed it, you have to stop complaining and take your lumps.  If you don’t vote, don’t expect to be taken seriously.

The people I vote for rarely win, but I at least announce that there are people who oppose the stupidity.

Even if you can’t stand the candidates there are always ballot initiatives to oppose.

I’m temping at our local elections office. Today marks the first day of hell month. It’s the first day that Absentee Ballots get mailed…or you can go in and pick up one in the office. The last day for registration here in CA is the 20th.

Thinking about sneaking some tequila into my desk for a little “liquid strength.”

A cough syrup bottle and a little food coloring – I had people working for me with “a problem”. Actually there are several cough syrups that have more of a kick than tequila.

Actually, peppermint schnapps is more believable than tequila for cough syrup.

Thanks. I’ll try out the suggestions. 😉

Hipparchia, you can grow the weeds, but they will attract pests 😈

Working with the public is known to be hard on your liver, because you want to forget about some of them as soon as possible.

they attract beneficial wildlife too, but you’re right, the pests are numerous and swoop in quickly. rather like locusts, now that you mention it.
