Fairy Tales

Top Trump intel officials are claiming that John Bolton’s book will cause “grave damage to US national security.” Trump’s incompetence hasn’t left enough of US national security to be damaged. This is an attack on Bolton and has nothing to do with national security or the book. If they didn’t want the book published they would have sued the publisher months ago not waited until a week before the release to go after Bolton. They want to punish Bolton by locking his royalties in escrow and having a long drawn out legal fight.

If you had any doubt what the inverted red triangle means, you could ask Trump’s buddies Gorka or Miller or Wikipedia. While Antifa is an enemy of fascists, they don’t use fascist symbols. FDR, Churchill, my Dad and uncles were definitely Antifa.

Although I doubt your Uncle Phil ever cast a ballot in his later years, he still had strong political opinions and a hysterical streak of sarcasm. It would be my guess that he’s currently spinning in his grave over Trump’s so-called presidency.

He and his brother both. My Mother would have been livid and wouldn’t have hidden it. Her sister OTOH became a conservative evangelical, which led to extended periods of silence between them.

I still wonder why Trump wants the job as he doesn’t want to do it. The next administration is going pull back most of what he has been squirreling away. Gifts to the Presidents by foreign leaders belong to the government not the individual President. He can’t just be beaten, it has to be a total defeat, an electoral massacre.

I’m surprised my Grandpa & Mom haven’t risen from their graves.

Dotard is heavily in debt to China & Russia (and others). He has no choice but to do what they want. He’s completely compromised.

Yep, and his come back rally in Tulsa was a flop. We have much bigger crowds for high school football games down here. His voters are smarter than I assumed.

I was reading dKOS & Others with my coffee earlier. I *almost* hope the attendees do get a COVID-19 spike. Almost.

Tulsa Rally Waiver Will Most Likely Not Shield Trump from Liability If CV-19 Infections Result

I guess we’ll find out soon enough. 🤷‍♂️

It normally has to be an “informed waiver of rights” to be valid and he has been telling people that COVID-19 is not a threat. The majority of his supporters don’t know their rights, but their estates may and will files if the individual dies.

I just saw this tweet & checked with a few Resistance people I respect. Apparently only ~1,500 of the ~6,100 attendees were actual trump supporters in Tulsa.

So, the Return on Investment was deep in the negative!

This too… they are definitely keeping everything they can in the family! Via WaPo:

A common thread among many Trump press staffers: They’re related to other Trump staffers

No surprise at all of course.

It is known that his campaign hires people to attend events. They just didn’t plan for a total failure. There were aerial views that show an empty overflow area, and there were no big protests around the auditorium. They arrested one woman at the center even though she had a ticket because of a “I can’t breathe!” t-shirt. The loners in the upper seating areas with masks were obviously not true believers. The number of COVID cases is spiking out West and not all of his supporters are suicidal.

The campaign pays $180k/month to Eric’s wife and to Don Jr’s girlfriend. A family business is all the Trump’s know anything about and that’s the model they use for everything.

hmph, i’d sometimes wondered where the pink triangles came from.

meanwhile, i’ve been away from the computer because of covid – not because i got it, but because i don’t want to get it. i have been pretty darn diligent with social distancing 😈

10 Bryan { 07.20.20 at 11:12 pm }

I have multiple masks and talk to people through the screen door. There are disinfecting wipes by the door to clean the door bell and door hardware after people are gone. I can’t believe how dumb the locals are.

In the last five years I’ve had pneumonia and then the flu. I’m not interested in increasing my chances of catching anything else. Good on ya, Hipparchia – hang tough and we’ll make it through this.

Hi hipparchia 👋

Pretty sure COVID19 isn’t the kind of virus you need to be concerned about getting on your computer. Unless you let a bunch of school kids use it first. Then it could be anything the little germ breeders are carrying. 😉😏 I haven’t been social distancing from my computer, just the internet. Or more accurately, *social* media & most supposed *news* sites. 🤷‍♂️🙄

I ordered a “5 Pack KN95 5-Ply Waterproof Respirator Protection Face Masks”, “Reynard 70% Sterile Alcohol Sanitiser Wipe Pads (200 pack)”, a good AU Hospital brand of “75% Alcohol Antibacterial Instant Hand Sanitiser”. Have to be very careful choosing a sanitizer. Several being sold now are from useless scam’s to toxic. Should arrive in the morning. Just in time for my Estate agent’s bi-annual inspection tomorrow afternoon. I eMailed them and said “No proper mask & gloves, no entry!” We are in stage 3 lock-down here now.

The USA FDA has updated it’s warning recently:

FDA Updates on Hand Sanitizers with Methanol

Dottard. Again. I wonder if the price was recruiting them (and others) for his test in Portland?
Trump pardons soldiers implicated in war crimes

Here… May as well make it a trifecta! *sigh*
Trump Says No One Thinks He’s Unfit for Office Anymore Since He ‘Aced’ His Cognitive Exam
🤦‍♂️🙄🤷‍♂️

One last one that I found curious… But I’m unsure what this will achieve.🤔

Chris Evans has created an interesting website called: A Starting Point. The point is to give Politicians a venue where they can give their uninterrupted views (really 1-2 minute sound bites) on a range of topics. It will be interesting to see how it goes. Watch his video for info:

OK. I need o play a game now. But I can’t decide… I think I need some humor! And “Two Point Hospital” is appropriate for the current disaster. It was created from a couple of ex Developers from the old Bullfrog Productions before EA took it over & destroyed it’s many awesome games (from the 90’s). It’s not as funny (or satirical) as their original “Theme Hospital” from 1997, but it’s not bad. And the graphics are a bit better at least, though the old Theme Hospital wasn’t bad. 😉 😀

If anyone is curious & hasn’t seen them, Theme Hospital trailer:

Have fun & stay safe! 👋

Hipparchia is well aware of that and was making a joke, but I have the advantage of knowing some of her work history. 😉

I have the disposable masks I bought for the flu a couple of years ago, as well as, several reusables with filters. I had hand sanitizers, disinfecting wipes, and nitrile exam gloves for cleaning apartments. I always have Clorox Clean-up in large bottles as well as other commercial chemicals to take care of mold and mildew inside and out. About the only thing I had any concern about obtaining was toilet paper, but it was back in stock just in time.

Yeah, there is always a problem with wood alcohol. I could make my own with 91% isopropyl alcohol and aloe gel, but I had enough on hand to last until I could get more. Down here getting high proof alcohol is not a major problem 😈

Trump still doesn’t understand that the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) just keeps you from being institutionalized – it qualifies you to stay out of assisted living facilities and allows you to handle your own money. It also signifies you are competent to be tried in a court of law 😈

I may look up “Fawlty Towers” reruns —

hi, kryten, good to see you!!!

and yeah, gotta watch out for the youngsters, they are germ factories. i’ve been working from home for a couple of months and before this i had NO IDEA how many kids were in my neighborhood! but now that i’m home all day everyday, and they’re home all day everyday, they seem like a swarm. parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and babysitters too have all been working diligently to teach them about social distancing, but it’s a difficult concept for happy, healthy, socially well-adjusted kids to grasp.

14 hipparchia { 07.25.20 at 9:48 am }

i’ve had flu and pneumonia just often enough in the past that i’m usually the first person in line when the flu shots of the year become available. i’m happy to stay in my cave until they get a proven covid vaccine developed, but i have to admit that i’m not sure i want one that’s been developed under the trump regime.

15 Bryan { 07.25.20 at 11:08 pm }

I’m due for my flu shot this month and the booster for the new pneumonia vaccine. Yeah, I would choose whatever Oxford is cooking up in preference to anything associated with a Trump. He’ll probably insist his name is on the vials.

About 100 days to go. I have already voted in the primary by mail and will vote in the general as soon as I get my ballot. I can tell if it counted by looking at the precinct returns. I stand out. I was surprised by the candidates for county supervisor. A number of them don’t sound like they’ll vote for Gaetz this November, as he is such an embarrassment.

16 Kryten42 { 07.27.20 at 9:15 am }

Yeah, I knew hipparchia was joking. So was I. Kinda… 😉

I’d forgotten that last part about the MoCa. Maybe that’s why he was forced to do it?🤔😈

I live near a large Primary School, it’s in the next street actually. I can hear them playing & the damned PA is annoying! So we have a lot of families with kids around here. I just had new neighbors move in a Month ago with three kids. How two Adults & three kids fit in a small 2 bedroom unit I have no idea! Must be bloody cramped!

I got my delivery of masks & sanitizer today. My unit inspections was moved from last Wed to this Wed. So that was good timing. And I have two Hospital appointments, scans & consultation. I am trying to make them the same day! It’s just stupid and too risky. I thought the name for the pads sounded familiar. They are the same ones my Hospital uses. They have Chlorhexidine as well as alcohol. Just a bit small for hands really, but they work. Dry fast too. I’ll carry a bunch when I need to go out.

I still watch Fawlty Towers now and then. Also Yes Minister & Yes, Prime Minister! They just never age. 👍😏

Good luck with the voting!

Regarding the MoCA, I think Trump had a seizure of some kind and was sent to the hospital for evaluation. The test would be one of the procedures to check for stroke. He does have “wobbly” episodes when he needs two hands to drink and slurs his words. We won’t know for some time what the problem was. There are no normal tests that are part of a physical for people our age (I’m two weeks older than he is) that require hospitalization given the medical facilities at the White House.

I’ll probably sign up for Britbox to watch the good stuff instead of US dreck.

A friend lives across the street from a daycare and he is constantly complaining about the noise. He’s just being hard to live with as if it annoys him he could take out his hearing aids or turn them down.
