I am never quite certain whether cats prefer the tops of laps or (as I suspect) laptop cases. Well, Tabitha may be an exception, but she’s old and has lost all fear of asking for what she really wants, no matter what other cats may think.
Ringo may be thinking that you should get her a case with more contrast to her own lovely color.

Black is the perfect color for my roomies as they all manage to deposit hair on the bag that is noticeable. It’s not like you get much choice at Office Depot.

Oh, you mean the laptop isn’t in there. That’s too bad. Cats really enjoy sleeping on computers and it looks like a laptop would be an excellent choice. Ringo looks svelte and beautiful, as always.

Jams, Sox is the cat for sleeping on computers. When I turn on my legacy Windows box [Win95], Sox recognizes the sound of the fan and zips in to jump atop the case to sleep.
Every time I clean the case to put the laptop away, one or another comes running in to jump on it.
