It’s either what they think we want, or what they want us to be interested in. Personally, I’ve never understood why anybody not actually up for one of the awards gives a damn. I think I’ve watched maybe 20 minutes of an Oscar ceremony in my entire life, and that was at least two decades ago. I’ve got more important things to do tonight than sit around watching the “beautiful people” looking vapid–like negotiating icy roads so I can go read Scripture at the 9 p.m. Mass.
Cleaning my bathroom is much more important, even if I had a TV.

Well, in CNN’s defense (it was on at the Chinese restaurant where I had lunch today), they were running stories about the Oscars and the custody battle over Anna Nicole Smith’s remains this afternoon.
