"There are two novels that can change a bookish 14-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

What a beautiful picture! I hope Excise is as relaxed as this after the surgery… 😈
Good for you, Excise! We need to love the kittens we have, not have more to end up in the pound!
And really (*cough*) you won’t miss it! Really… look there’s a mouse!
Got to be done though! I remember this poem from Mad magazine – my uncle used to give them to me as a kid.
Pussy cat, pussy cat where have you been?
Under the scalpel of Dr McQueen
Pussy cat, pussy cat what did he do?
I’m now fat and lazy, that’ll give you a clue
“What do you mean fixed? I ain’t broken, meow.”
@jams – ROTFL! I remember that same Mad Magazine and that same “nursery rhyme” from my own youth! It’s good to see it reappear, all these decades later. Thanks!
The lad is at the vet’s now, but he did not go quietly and his hide is stretched rather tightly where it should be available as a hand-hold. I think Sox squealed, even though Excise was in solitaire all night, because the boy was ready for me this morning.
Sure guys, laugh it it up [as you cross your legs]. 😉
‘Tis a life of cigars and naps for him now. *sniff*
He is currently atop a bookcase wondering if it would be worth the pain to attack me on the way by. It’s not like he didn’t get his first high.
It’s a good thing. He may have had his little nuts excised, but he won’t be spraying or creating kittens. If he goes outside, hopefully, he won’t be wandering off. He’s a beautiful kitty.
OWL, he won’t be going outside, the ferals rightfully scare him. He is a handsome cat, but not very bright.
