End of a Lifestyle II

Friday Cat Blogging

Well, Excise didn’t think it was so bad.

[Editor: It is Income’s turn to be a “retired gentleman cat” and in the grand tradition of fraternity initiation, Excise didn’t tell his brother what would happen.]

and just exactly what kind of lifestyle were you letting them get up to?

i paid my taxes by check, via snail mail, so i’m not going to get my economic stimulus until, like, next year practically. it should be enough to finish fixing the rest of the crew. curmudgeon cat is not going to be pleased when i tell him how much longer he’s going to have to put up with all his new-found girlfriends.

These are cats – it’s not like anything sort of surgery was going to alter their “lifestyle”.

Sox can commiserate with Curmudgeon, as Ringo was never “normal” long enough for me to schedule an appointment.

Haha not that he looks too bothered! If an intact tome shouts “Hey no nuts” its only them calling a spayed a spayed!

Jams, you are spending too much time around Steve Bates.

Bryan, I’m quite certain jams was that way long before he met me. Give him credit where credit is due, if indeed “credit” is the right word… 🙂

“Debit” would be more appropriate to my way of thinking.

I’m glad Excise didn’t have any trouble with his surgery. Back when I got Grey Feather, the pound did her surgery during the Monday and requested I pick her up that night. I was shocked that she had no problems with anesthesia, in fact, she wanted to play!

The new anesthesia procedure is far superior than that of a decade ago. When my first cat had the operation she was “drunk” for more than a day, and I had to sleep in the floor to prevent her from trying to jump on the bed and tearing her stitches.

The latest round have all been “glued” so they don’t have to go back.

This is something that most of us (hopefully) will experience. The pain is soon forgotten, along with the desire to kick another cat’s butt. Unless they’re really annoying.

I intend to personally avoid the procedure, but recommend it for all cats. Spaying and neutering at least doubles the life expectancy of a feral cat.
