Friday Cat Blogging

!!Banzai!!…!NOOOO!…[THUD]

[Editor: This the beginning of an action sequence as Excise learned that two bodies cannot occupy the same space at the same time. He was attempting to jump down to the top of a small bookcase to the right while Sox was already airborne for the same landing site. He learned that Sox has more mass. Fortunately for Sox, the collision with Excise prevented him from sliding off the top of the bookcase, the normal result when he jumps up there. Only dignity was injured in this post.]

It’s true! A dog has no shame.. but a cat will claw your eyes out if it suspects you saw it doing something embarrassing! LOL

Well… all the cat’s I ever had would have, anyway. 😀

Thanks, Bryan – I was just at The Modulator, going to post her name, and saw it already there.

I heart my blog friends…

No no, Kryten. Every cat I’ve ever had, if it did something embarassing like, say, leap for the top of the bookcase and miss, was careful to sit down and quietly lick its paw in a dignified manner as if saying, “I *meant* to do that. Srisly!”

Cats never acknowledge any error, and you are well advised not to act like there was one. Excise is not mature enough to totally understand, but Sox will explain it to him – after I go to sleep.

You got it in one, Badtux. Sat there cleaning himself up, even though you could see him almost winch when he shifted his weight.

You are very welcome, Moi.

One day, I’m gonna catch Pica chasing her tail and slamming her head into the back of my desk chair on video.

The whole story behind the picture – I was taking a shot of him laying on top of the high bookcase and sticking his head around the corner. I had the camera set for the “Portrait” mode which has a very limited depth of field, and he leaped just as the camera took the shot.

If I had thought he was going to jump I could have gone to the video mode, but I doubt I would have gotten anything in the light.

It was total luck that this came out as anything other than a blur.

You most have a different charging circuit in your camera, because my crew can apparently hear the camera getting ready to shoot, and I assume it’s the high frequency squeal when the capacitor charges for the flash.

either that, or i have clueless cats.but no, they never seem to anticipate the flash.

Kitties have such bravery about jumping up and down and all over. I’m amazed at the places I find kitties. You just can’t kitty proof a room, unless you get rid of everything. I’m glad only dignity was hurt for either. That only hurts while one thinks about it.

Kittie-proof has the same validity as escape proof, OWL. The late, great Koshka walked on the top of doors, and would sleep up there.
