What Is The Real Count
While everyone is probably aware of Dr. Tiller and now the murder of Stephan T. Johns at the Holocaust Memorial in Washington, many are not aware of the many other deaths associated with other rightwing terrorists.
Locally there was was the murder of two Chileans and the wounding of three more by Danny Baker in February of this year. Mr. Baker didn’t like non-whites.
Then there was the murder of two of our deputy sheriffs by Joshua Cartwright in April. Mr. Cartwright was concerned with having his guns taken away. This occurred just after the ambush of three Pittsburgh police officers.
The death toll is much higher than people are being led to believe.
The 2003 case of William Krar with a store house of weapons, including a poison gas bomb should have alerted people to the problem of ignoring the domestic terrorists, but it didn’t.
They are out there, and they are becoming active. Ignoring warnings, like the DHS report on rightwing terrorists, doesn’t make them disappear, or any of us safer.
Once again – there are no gun bills currently active in the US Congress, so there is no reason for these people to claim that the current administration is coming to get their guns. The rumors about this are irresponsible attempts at funding raising by certain groups.

Most people don’t wake up until a few seconds before they die. *shrug* Way it is.
Basically, the average human is amazingly ignorant and stupid.
It takes a major tragedy with significant personal loss for people to really start to realise there is a problem. Unfortunately, the response is almost always a completely emotional, terrified (warranted or not) ill-conceived reaction that makes everything worse.
I am always amused when I hear someone say that we humans are a *rational species*. In my 50+ years, I have very little statistically significant proof of this assertion. Of course, for the most part, they actually mean that we a a *Rationalizing species* which is a completely different thing to being *rational*. 🙂
Until people are totally honest with themselves, there is no hope they will be honest about anything to anyone. As people continue to live in their fools paradises, nothing will ever improve. And THAT is a fact!
Evolution doesn’t work fast enough for the modern world, if it did, most of these people would have the life expectancy of mayflies. It is amazing that they can last until adulthood as oblivious as they are to the environment around them.

Understand that the people I hear talking about their guns being taken away, live in a state that doesn’t have a problem with gun battles in store parking lots. That bill was sponsored by our local state senator at the time, Durell Peaden, MD.

Indeed. I keep telling my immigrant co-workers, “quit believing that America is what you see around it, we live in a tiny enclave of sanity” (the SF Bay Area). Outside of this area, they would be treated like sh*t and risk getting shot just for having brown(er) skin. But all they see are the great things they see around them, and they don’t realize that a large percentage of the country has, quite frankly, gone batshit *nuts*.

We have had a number of homeless beaten to death here in Santa Barbara..one homeless man died when he was set afire in Los Angeles.
The excuses the police think…simply because they were homeless. I think the same sort of fear and hate is in play in these types of deaths, too.

When times get hard the whackos look for someone, anyone to blame. Since they are condition from birth to never blame the people with money, they go after anyone who is different in any way.
The first step to preparing someone for war is to overcome the deeply held conviction that most sane people have against murder. The easiest way of doing it is to suggest that those you want killed aren’t really human. That’s why you see the stereotyping and the emphasis on differences. “We are human. They aren’t like us. They aren’t human” A simplistic, but highly effective technique since the beginning of time.
Oh yes, Badtux, your coworkers would definitely not find a warm welcome on the Panhandle. The pretense of civility would stop about ten miles north of the coast where tourism isn’t important.
They aren’t considered human, Jill, so it is OK to kill them. If you look at newspaper accounts you will see more concern for animal abuse than violence against the homeless.
I assume that is because you would rather see women die, because that is the primary legal justification for the services that Dr. Tiller provided and his records have been check multiple times in great detail in hopes of finding a single case that wasn’t justified so he could be prosecuted.
Well, Mr. Duff, there are a lot of people in this country who, like you, want women to die in childbirth, but some of us would just as soon that didn’t happen.
Ahhh… there speaks the typical white supremacist pig ignorant male (and appropriately named Duff). I have yet to read anything from Duff (I just realised that’s appropriate in two ways now! Enjoys getting women up the duff without taking any responsibility whatever, and Homer Simpson.)
