"There are two novels that can change a bookish 14-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

curmudgeon cat can, and often does, look that angelic, but the chicken hat would be shredded wheat in a nanosecond.

I wonder where people find cats that will put up with that kind of foolishness.
kitteh has a point about silly hoomins there.
most cats i’ve met wouldn’t wear anything, let alone a hat, but i’ve met one or two who actually like playing dress up.

Someone must have warped them as kittens. I gave up on collars with my crew as replacements were costing me to much.
back when i had only two cats, i tried the collars, just in case they got out. i know they cooperate in getting each other’s collars off, i’ve seen them.

I didn’t mind them removing them, but I did mind that they would stash them and the only way I ever found them was massacring dust bunnies with the vacuum.
From the cat’s point of view removing them was part of grooming.
