The Thugs Are Everywhere

The ABC reports on their local variety: Death threats sent to top climate scientists

Several of Australia’s top climate change scientists at the Australian National University have been subjected to a campaign of death threats, forcing the university to tighten security.

Several of the scientists in Canberra have been moved to a more secure location after receiving the threats over their research.

Vice-chancellor Professor Ian Young says the scientists have received large numbers of emails, including death threats and abusive phone calls, threatening to attack the academics in the street if they continue their research.

He says it has been happening for the past six months and the situation has worsened significantly in recent weeks.

Anything that disturbs the belief system of these lowlifes is met with violence. They don’t have any other response to challenges to their weltanschauung, their reality. Climatologists aren’t really equipped to deal with this crap. Trust me, martial arts is not a core requirement for the degree.

Given what has been happening recently in Australia, how can anyone doubt that things are seriously screwed up, and something needs to be done.

My response to anyone who complains about the cost is simple – how do we afford the disasters if we continue to do nothing? We have had seven weather events so far this year in the US that have each cost more than a billion dollars. Even with inflation, that is some serious money.

Yeah, and I’ve said it before. *shrug*

It’s a very sad World when what we all have most in common, is the lowest common denominator, and the lowest excuses for humans. It’s the main reason I’ve been saying for years now, that I’d be happy to find a nice isolated cave near fresh running water and live there happily. But, now that the moronic lowlifes are destroying everything because of their rampant ignorance, disregard for anything but themselves, and insane stupidity, it would be very difficult to find such a place where I could actually survive. Still… Aus is a huge place, and there are still many places I could look, and I was very well trained for this kind of thing. I doubt I’d really have much trouble if I decided that it could be done, and that I should do it. We have several hermits here in Aus who finally had enough of all the crap, who are living off the land and happy. 🙂

The World is one big toilet.

“The World is one big toilet.” – Kryten42

You are now entering… The Toilet Zone

Yep.

I prefer this one though (It’s very hard to find now. Was on YouTube about a year ago, but it must have been removed). This one’s on a YT clone site in Japan (of course! They love this stuff!) 😆

Twilight Zone
(Pause it until it loads, then watch it full screen for best effect). 😉

Ah, but I have not been idle in our troll’s absence. No, indeed. From a humorous song, I learned a bit of British slang that was new to me: “up the Duff” …

The systems are going to start breaking down, and those that know how to live off the land will become dominant. The mass of people are going to suffer when the “Grid” starts falling apart.

The people with all of the wealth and power will discover that you can’t eat money or gold, so we will finally be rid of them, and people who actually know how to do things rise to the top again.

Putting aside my silliness for a moment… I do not believe a few people’s being able to live off the land will be enough to result in a sustainable human population beyond the generation in which the catastrophe, whatever it is, takes place. There is a minimum human population, and probably a minimum geographic distribution of that population, below which h. sapiens will simply die out despite all best efforts… it’s not as if there’s no species competition for the minimal resources we need to live on. Global climate change is just the sort of catastrophe that could bring about such an end.

There will certainly be a mass die off, but that will help to ameliorate the conditions. The amount of arable land will be much reduced, but there will be fewer people competing for it. Things will find a new balance.

Agree Bryan.

Steve, Human’s survived thousands of years ago when there were only small groups of tribes, whose only mode of transport were their feet until they learned to domesticate animals, and not the billions that plague the World and are destroying it today. 🙂

I know I can survive. And I know the Earth will survive after I am gone. What happens to the Human race… I truly couldn’t care less. 🙂 Stupidity is it’s own reward.

BTW, I think the truly intelligent species on Earth are the Dolphins. 😉 They left the water (with their cousins, the Whales) and lived on land for a time, decided it was a really bad idea and returned to the water whence all mammals came. Just goes to prove that our now aquatic cousins are smarter then the monkeys who decided walking on land was a great idea. 😈 Of course, we are destroying their ocean habitat, but hopefully we will all be gone before we manage to complete that job. So, maybe the Dolphins & Whales will survive to reign supreme once again! Now THAT… would most definitely be justice. 😆

The best part is going to be when all the rich jerks figure out why the Paleo-indians, and early settlers didn’t build near the water, but on the bluffs above it. This area has been inhabited for thousands of years, and you will find that out if you build on those bluffs, because you will discover the traces of the first people. At some point in the distant past they built out on the land that is currently the floor of the Gulf of Mexico, as has been discovered by divers off the coast. Obviously the lesson was learned and the latter people moved to the bluffs. That probably occurred at the end of the last Ice Age.

Here (from PBS) is an interesting article on average species “lifespans” and related numbers. Mammals seem to get about a million years, with exceptions up to 10 million years. But everything depends on the details, and here is the nut graf of the article:

Increasingly, researchers are doing the numbers, and saying, yes, if present trends continue, a mass extinction is very likely underway. The evidence is pieced together from details drawn from all over the world, but it adds up to a disturbing picture. This time, unlike the past, it’s not a chance asteroid collision, nor a chain of climatic circumstances alone that’s at fault. Instead, it is chiefly the activities of an ever-growing human population, in concert with long-term environmental change.

My best guess, and I admit it’s a guess, is that Homo sapiens will succumb to one or another sudden worldwide event, and I’d bet good money (heh) that the event will be triggered by… H. sapiens.

(The entire article is short and very much worth reading.)

In my current physical state, I will be lucky to have another decade of life. I do hope that’s not the decade in which the precipitous event happens.

I’ll have to check that out Steve. 🙂 Not that I need to, but I’m curious.

I’ve known for a long time that Humans will be the genesis of their own destruction. It’s simply racial suicide. I’ve traveled wide and far, and almost everywhere I went, the insanely stupid and the ignorant far outweighed the truly intelligent. I must admit I couldn’t help myself laughing out aloud when I read that only 2-4% of Americans (and that’s the average Globally) have the same personality type as I do. 😉 😛 There are of course other types that have similar characteristics, but we are unfortunately far outnumbered by the rest who couldn’t complete a rational thought no matter how much money you offered them to do it! (Such as the resident Trollop) 😈

I feelz it in mah bonez! Call it intuition if you like, or many years of careful thought and investigation on the subject. Whatever… *shrug*

BTW Steve… Did you watch that vid? 😉 Brought back memories for me (mainly of a concert decades ago). 😀

Kryten – “This video can only be streamed within Mainland China”.

14 Kryten42 { 06.05.11 at 1:04 pm }

Oh? That’s interesting. I’ve never had a problem with that site, I’m not in China! 😆 But then again… my system isn’t exactly *normal* either. 😉

Still… If it is in China (which is a surprise), this might help:

Ultrareach Internet Corporation – UltraSurf

It was created to allow people in China to bypass the censors to view *banned* websites. But it works both ways. 😉 🙂 It will also keep your data streams scrambled from your own domestic nosy busybodies in Gov, and elsewhere! 😆

If that doesn’t help, I’ll upload the vid to one of my fileshare accounts. Let me know. 🙂

Sorry about that. *sigh*
