Au contraire, Jams, Bernie Sanders, one of the Senators from Vermont is a socialist and always has been. They have just passed a single-payer universal health insurance law, and actually have fewer laws than any other state. Howard Dean was the governor of Vermont before he ran for President, and is one of the few center-left Democrats left in the national Democratic Party.
We have lefties in politics, but not many, and they are only in isolated pockets.
