"There are two novels that can change a bookish 14-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. In other news, the City of Nice is threatening to sue anybody who shares the photo of the Nice police swarming a woman in a burkini to force her to remove articles of clothing and give her a ticket. Because it makes them look like a bunch of thugs. And thus is libel.
Even though it’s exactly what happened.
Some people just don’t “get” that whole Streisand Effect thing….
Something happens and politicians immediately do something to make voters think that things are under control. Shortly afterward it becomes obvious that what the politicians had done is totally worthless for the problem and, in fact, make things worse. Unable to admit they f**ked up, the politicians double down and wait for the courts to reverse what they have done. If the courts reverse the politicians will claim that their incredibly stupid idea would have worked if the courts hadn’t intervened.
Obviously you can’t have pictures out there of just how stupid the idea was….
Of course the threat to sue anyone that posts the pictures of the police hassling women at the beach will now go viral.
Amazing that the French police didn’t attack these terrorist women…. http://imgur.com/gallery/pEriw
There’s a word for guys who wander through the beach crowd and tell women to take their clothes off – pervert
