I Need More Coffee

So, I’m reading this AP story about the discovery of a bust of Caesar by underwater archaeologists in France, and my first thought was “He looks like Tom Brokaw.”

Time to up my caffeine level.

A good likeness, certainly.

And hey – something older than McCain!

Well, slightly older.

Good to see you in comments, Andante.

Interesting. I wonder what political theater precipitated having the statue and other objects tossed into the creek. Shades of Baghdad and the Saddam statue. It might be fun to speculate on the reasons and when in relation to the actual living Caesar.

Bah… I discovered when I got up this morning that I was out of coffee! Hmmph! Had to settle for tea. *sigh* I need my morning coffee hit dammit! I was annoyes… so I went over to read C&L, which is usually a good laugh for me… but it was just kinda sobering really. 🙂

Lot’s of good reads at C&L today! 🙂 Conyers says they will impeach Bushmoron if he invades Iran, Edwards officially endorses Obama, roads and infrastructure are crumbling all over the USA (who needs an earthquake when you have a Bushmoron?) etc, etc. 🙂

Well… I have to get ready for an appointment (and buy some coffee)! Have a good day all! 😀

Cheers.

Fallenmonk, they are always throwing something away in Arles – busts, statues, ears.

It was probably one of the religion related conflicts. The Greek to Roman shift was apparently fine, so I would guess Christian, Christian heresy, Muslim, or Christian after Muslim wars that have scoured the area. They could have been dumped for safe-keeping or disrespect, so who can say for sure?

Trust me, Kryten, the Democrats won’t take a real stand on anything. The current Congressional leadership lacks the spine.

it would be more helpful to impeach bush before he attacks iran.

I fear we will be mired in the worst possible outcome, a do-nothing Democratic Congress and four more years of whacko in the White House.

This is why the Republican need not fear a long stay in the wilderness, the Democrats are building the road to their return by not standing for anything, or against anything.

hipparchia: Never a truer word was spoken! And I am sure many sane people feel the same way. Would that it were so… *sigh*

I’m feeling the same way Bryan. We are still not completely out of the pit of hell Howard put us in yet. Rudd made a big tactical blunder in his first Budget this weel. He ignored the pensioners (aged and disability) and carers, and they are now on the warpath! Even Howard was never stupid enough to run afoul of the pensioners (at least, not for long!) So now Rudd is scrambling to do something. Still, he has only been in office 4 Months! But it was a bad mistake really nonetheless. Oh well… if he lives, he will learn! LOL

I got my coffee! Yayyyyy! And some nice Chinese white tea I like. 🙂 I never said I didn’t like tea… I just HAVE to have my morning coffee hit or the day is not worth facing! And it MUST be fresh ground New Guinea Blue Mountain! Mmmmmmm… (Or posible one or two others that are bearable, like a pure Ethiopian Arabica I like, it’s a FairTrade brand that costs a bit more, but the money goes to the people who work for it!) 🙂

Cheers! Off to make a coffee… the beans are calling, calling….

Sorry it has taken so long to respond, but life intrudes, including broken pipes and incompetence in corporations.

Anything that seriously threatened Social Security would result in instant banishment in the US, and our system is nowhere near as total as yours. Seniors vote and write letters – they have the time and motivation. It will cost Rudd something to calm them down, and he’ll still pay some price at the ballot box as well. Not a good start.

I never run out of coffee. I have two packages in the house, and when the second is opened, it goes on the shopping list. I deal with my green tea the same way. Caffeine is the only way I can get started in the morning.

I used to have a constant supply of a great Colombian coffee, but, although friends still go to Colombia, bringing anything back to too much of a hassle.

Hey, no problems Bryan! You surely don’t need to reply to any (and certainly not all) of my comments m8! 🙂 I hope you don’t feel obliged? Really, I understand you are very busy, and surly understand about ‘Real Life'(tm) intervening at inconvenient times. 😀 Heck, I’m glad you have a life m8! 🙂

I wish I could send you some of the New Guinea Blue Mountain coffee! It is awesome! But I tried sending coffee to the USA once, and it never arrived. I discovered that hiding drugs in coffee was a fave of the drug runners, so when the sniffers detect coffee, sometimes they just destroy it.

I discovered the coffee after a trip to Papua New Guinea. They handed out a 200g bag to passengers departing a PNG airlines flight. I was never sure if it was a kind of apology for the flight, or a congratulatory gift for surviving it! LOL The coffee is soooo good, it is almost worth the risk of a flight! 😀 😀

Cheers m8, and you *DON’T* have to reply! 😉 🙂
