Cats are so unabashed about their underwear! Maybe humans would be happier if they adopted more of that attitude.

So you’re saying that the Tax Cats have picked up some attitude from the ferals, Bryan?
Though I must admit that it took me a significant amount of time to get The Mighty Fang to accept belly scritches without needing stitches afterwards, and he still prefers not to receive them (though now he expresses his discontent by leaving the vicinity rather than causing a need for stitches). Mencken, on the other hand, generally disdains people, but scratch his belly and he just flops on his back like a ragdoll and his eyes roll back in his head and his tongue lolls out in joy. For such an ordinarily-curmudgeonly cat, it’s a hilarious sight to see…
The boys go stupid when you scratch their stomachs – it’s like ‘nip. I have to watch Sox because he’ll fall off things rolling around, and when he decides it’s time he’ll flop on the floor and trip you.
The girls pull a full “bicycle” – grabbing your hand with front claws and pumping away with their back legs. It gets bloody really fast.

I think it depends on their experiences in their “battles”. If they have ever been attacked in the belly area, they won’t expose it, even for scritches. The boys tend to target the head and throat.

They were born on April 15th, so Income, Property, and Excise – the Tax kitties.

She’s a fine looking little tiger. Cats are definitely cute when they lay on their backs. I don’t care what cat it is. Property looks like she is very soft to pet. Her coloration is also very pretty. Meow! My cats wish they were as cute!
Alas, she is probably the least friendly of the whole crew. She was originally going to go to an older man whose tom cat wasn’t around very much and he wanted a lap cat.
Unfortunately his doctor made him stay away from all animals, which is a shame, because he passed on not long ago, without even the comfort of a cat.
oh dear. i’m sorry to hear about that. i was wondering about him recently.
He was in great shape for a guy in his 70s, but had a minor accident and ended up getting an infection in the hospital that lead to his death.
Hospitals are very dangerous places.

There are many local surgeons who are urging patients to use surgery centers for anything that doesn’t absolutely require a hospital, because they have lost confidence in the local facilities – too much for-profit and not enough hospital.
