Show Some Spine or Else

The Culture Ghost makes clear what a lot of people are feeling: candidates are not going to receive votes just because of a party label.

I’m not voting for anyone in the Florida Senate race this year, because there is no one running that I want to win. When Bill Nelson voted for the new Bankruptcy Bill he lost my vote. If these people go to Washington and vote against me, they shouldn’t come home and expect me to vote for them.

I’m sick and tired of voting against things; I want something to vote for.

I don’t want “electable” candidates; I want people who stand for something. If you can’t convince people that your positions are the right ones, you don’t deserve the office.

If you are happy with the way things are, then please, withhold your vote. Because, you know that the other side has no problem with holding their noses and voting for an unpalatable candidate. And the results are obvious: once you control the house or the senate, your party sets the agenda.

So, if you need to, vote for “congressional oversight” or “higher IQ” instead against a candidate.

Yessir, it’s been way too long since I’ve seen spines. After all the GOP has sunk to, if Dems can’t stand up for damn near anything, they definitely should stand down.

Kometes, I’m not happy with the way things are, and my Democratic Senator is one of the reasons they are like this. He refuses to vote against legislation that hurts the people who elected him. Party label isn’t as important as actual votes. When two people are running who will both vote the same way, the fact that he says he is a Democrat and the she says she is a Republican is irrelevant.

Kevin, the problem is that these DLC types are clogging the process. There are real Democrats who actually believe that they are supposed to represent the people in the system, but the party keeps devoting all of the resources to the “lifers”.

Hey Kometes, have you seen what The Dinocrats are running for Governor in California?
Jello and Tofu…neither one of them stands a chance against The Governator and it’s not because Arnold is so popular (his numbers are way down). The party inner circle got together and decided which two should compete in the primary (because afterall, this is the US of A, and choice is our god-given right). These guys are both losers. Arnold is going to win strictly because the Dinocrats couldn’t field anything the least bit appealing even to those who don’t like Arnold.

I will vote Green and hope our numbers make an impact this year.
