Shucks

Piyush was in the area not running for President and I missed him.

The Times Picayune reports:

After a three-month break mandated by state law, Gov. Bobby Jindal will resume raising money for his re-election campaign today with an event in Destin, Fla.

The fund-raiser is being hosted by the Louisiana chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, and follows a speech that Jindal is giving to the group, which is holding its 2009 convention in the popular vacation destination.

Well, at least we are getting some tax revenue from the visit, which will help the county budget. Although we are in better shape than many counties because of state and federal actions. We didn’t have to lay off anyone from the Sheriff’s Office because of all of the arrests by the Feds, and the state arrests of other local officials are being tried in the state capital in Leon County, so we don’t have to pay those costs. Things could be worse. 😈

…if the fundraiser doesn’t feature him wandering out of some dark “Tara” background to decry the useless expenditure of federal funds for things like volcano monitoring or the National Weather Service, it just won’t be right…

Oh, I think a few questions as to why the Louisiana Builders are listening to the Louisiana governor at a Florida resort, when there are resorts in Louisiana who need the business would be worth the price of driving down the beach.

Of course, such questions won’t be asked.

Bobby brought his own money people, Sarah would go to South Florida if she came to the state. There are Repub votes, but not much money on the Panhandle.

We don’t have any beaches in Louisiana. Well, none worth the name, anyhow. Just sand dumped on top of swamp muck. Which smells like, well, sand dumped on top of swamp muck. Plus if they held it in Louisiana, the wives might drive by while they’re consortin’ with their mistresses and such. Bad form, bad form.

So if a buncha redneck good ole’ boys want to ogle them some hotties in bikinis on the beach or indulge in some hottie arm candy, they gotta go at least to the Redneck Riviera, but Florida has more hotties. Duh.

We do have some of the best looking beaches in the world, thanks to the sugar white quartz sand, and the relatively unpolluted Gulf. There are also a lot of condos in Destin owned by Louisianans, many of whom came over after Katrina to stay until their houses were repaired or rebuilt. I wasn’t kidding when I said that the income is appreciated because we are hurting for tourists, no doubt about it.

It just doesn’t look good, and there will be complaints by the Louisiana visitors and tourist people. There is more to the state than New Orleans.

You are right that they don’t want to go messing around if Momma can drive by and catch them at it.
