Front Runners
Okay, among the early candidates the only one who is worth my support is Bill Richardson, governor of New Mexico. The three front runners lost my vote and support on the issue of Iran. They still don’t get it: AIPAC and their enablers are passing out the “brown acid,” and Clinton, Edwards, and Obama still haven’t learned to “avoid the brown acid”¹, the intel and spin that got us the very “bad trip” that is Iraq.
I refuse to vote for anyone who won’t make the effort to really learn about matters of war and peace. I’m not voting for another unnecessary war.

I’m still hoping that General Clark will run. Everytime I hear about Richardson, I’m afraid my first reaction is his “tall tales” on his resume.

Is it worse than Bush’s lies…no. But, it the question still sticks in my mind…WHY? With all he’s done…WHY?

…must we REALLY say that a person has to be “older” to understand the “brown acid” reference? Can’t we just think back to Richie Havens singing about “a motherless child” and marvel at Max Yasgur’s generosity and maybe pretend that an uncle or something told us about the event or the movie…
…spent the weekend with a bunch of younger in-laws that I watched grow up who have kids of their own now. “Older” is a sensitive spot right now…
Jill, I’m limiting this to those who have announced. If Wes or Al come in, everything changes. Bill gets carried away some times, but he at least is willing to listen and to study. He at least understands the importance of diplomacy.
Jams, as Jack indicates below you, it is a reference to the Woodstock music festival. The “brown acid” was a bad batch of LSD that was making the rounds at the festival.
Jack, acid is not exactly common among high school and college-aged people these days – I have shirts older than “Gen Y”, I’m a great uncle. It happens to us all, but there’s only one way of not getting older that really works…
phew! for a while this great aunt was feeling old, but ever since not getting the ‘brown acid’ reference, I’m feeling like a youngin’ again.
