About Time
Kiley gone – good riddance to bad rubbish.
Having figured out that it would be a cold day in Cheney’s undisclosed location before the Senate approved his third star, Lieutenant General Kevin Kiley, the man who ignored problems at Walter Reed from 2000 to 2004, has retired.
He should have been the first to go.

One would also hope IAP Worldwide Services would have it’s lucrative contract yanked. Given their connections to Darth Cheney, they’ll probably get a fat raise.
It almost looks like Gates is actually trying to do his job, and we know Congress has figured out that they had better take care of business, so IAP may be in for a rude awakening and actually have to provide some service.
I agree that since Gates has gotten in (combined with the Democratic Congress), it seems that accountability is now much more fashionable than before. Here’s hoping it trickles into other areas such as DOJ (and exactly who is responsible for those firings) and FEMA (now that you’re getting closer to hurricane season). All the energy the current administration expends in trying to manipulate reality would be better spent in actually fixing some things.
It would also be cheaper for taxpayers in the long run, Alice. The amount of money these people wasted on trailers after they failed to have a contract in place before the storm is obscene. The trailers are rotting in storage facilities, and the coming year looks like it might get exacting.
