I think, and it’s also been commented on, that what is driving this early-early season is the publics fervent desire and wish to MOVE on from Bush 43’s reign of error. As much as I hate 24 months of campaigning – I can sympathize with the motivations here! But it’s already tooo too long. But the early primaries are weird too.
If you can’t do it in six-weeks, you can’t do it. “Santa Claus won’t come if you don’t go to sleep.” Wishing and hoping isn’t going to move November, 2008 on the time line, neither is killing trees to talk about these people.
On the other hand, there IS a way to advance that date. I’m not sure if that would really shorten the resulting campaign, but I’m beginning to think we need to try to impeach in any case. If Bush were having an extramarital affair, it would be easier, but if that’s all he was doing, I wouldn’t be concerned for America’s survival for the next two years.
As things are, I’m with you: vote for Mad! (Full disclosure: she’s my blogmother…)
Cheney first, and then we have a voice in the replacement of VP who will be President.
It’s a sad note that people think it’s valid to impeach for personal failings, but not criminal conduct.
