Let’s Be Clear

Congresscritter Alan Grayson has apologized for calling a lobbyist a whore. He should have apologized and he needs to use the proper terms in the relationship among the groups that hire lobbyists, the lobbyists, and the public officials who are lobbied.

Simply put, the groups are “johns”, they are the ones paying for the “services”. The lobbyists are “pimps”, they arrange for the “services” to be provided. It is the public officials who are “whores”.

Grayson would know that if he had worked in the criminal courts, instead of the civil side.

Put in another call to Grayson’s office and thanked him for his “testicular fortitude.”

As the old saying has it, Mr. Duff just wants to make sure we have the best politicians money can buy.

I’ve heard it said that in Texas, an honest politician is one who, once bought, stays bought. That should be to David’s taste. Jeez, I hope he doesn’t move here… nah. Global “warming” or no, he wouldn’t survive half of one summer; he’d succumb to the first 100°F/100% day. 😆

I don’t actually expect you to know this but on January 30, 2008 I clearly stated that Obama was a moderate to conservative Republican based on what he had actually done in public office, and was a Democrat only because the Chicago machine continues to call itself Democratic.

His hiring practices are totally in line with my description of him, and the double-talk on lobbyists is the same sort of thing that Reagan and the Bushes did. There are no liberals or progressives in the Obama administration, and anyone who thought there would be is fooling themselves.

I didn’t vote for him, and couldn’t care less what he thinks of lobbyists.

Lobbyists are pimps, procuring whores for the highest bidder. They serve no useful purpose, and are responsible for serious mischief.

An MP represents approximately 93K constituents. A member of the US House represents approximately 690K constituents. Both are elected to represent their constituents, and not groups that can afford to hire lobbyists.

There are too many special provisions in US law for specific groups to ever be considered good for the average citizen. The tax code is cluttered with special rules that benefit people that can afford to hire the lobbyists.

Almost every political corruption case tried in this country is tied in one way or another to lobbyists, because they gain access to politicians through legal and illegal bribes. There is no other reason for their existence.
