The BBC highlights a problem which affects the entertainment industry in the current stand-off: C[hannel] 4 may pull drama over Iran fears.
Channel 4 says it is considering delaying a drama about British soldiers in Iraq as the UK negotiates to free 15 Royal Navy personnel captured by Iran.
The Mark of Cain, which was due to be broadcast on Thursday, shows British troops abusing Iraqi detainees.
I’m not in favor of censorship, but this is probably not a good time to remind people of the coalition treatment of detainees in Iraq. This is why adherence to the Geneva Conventions is not “quaint” – you do it to protect your own people.

Wouldn’t that be a novel idea? Y’know, doing the right thing, not because you don’t wanna get caught or because it’ll cost you money to do otherwise, but because, y’know, IT’S THE RIGHT FUCKING THING TO DO?!?!?!?

There is no real way for forcing a BBC channel to do anything, but this would just add fuel to the fire. They could just run Wallace and Grommit until their people are freed.
I don’t give a rat’s ass about the TV show, I was more pissed about the way that these mongrels have pissed all over the Geneva Conventions, the U.S. Constitution, et al.
They are in this situation because of the way they have abused the Geneva Convention.
The current Iranian President is a class 1-A fanatic. The most recent election in Iran showed that the Iranians are tired of his garbage, and want a change. The best way to get him out is to avoid providing him with justification for his whacko conspiracy theories. Every time they pull some stupid trick, it keeps him in power a little longer. If they attack Iran, Ahmadinejad will be President for Life, or until the Grand Ayatollah can’t take him any longer.
I know that he’s a nutjob, everybody knows that he’s a nutjob. But none of that is shit to a tree compared to the hellacious crimes that these cocksuckers (“our” gubmint — HA!) have committed against humanity.
