Mess Call

BadTux risks flipper and craw in the frozen pizza bake-off of his bachelor cooking series.

Leeds University takes another tack with: N = C + {fb (cm) · fb (tc)} + fb (Ts) + fc · ta

Scientists’ ‘perfect’ bacon butty:

The formula is: N = C + {fb (cm) · fb (tc)} + fb (Ts) + fc · ta, where N=force in Newtons required to break the cooked bacon, fb=function of the bacon type, fc=function of the condiment/filling effect, Ts=serving temperature, tc=cooking time, ta=time or duration of application of condiment/filling, cm=cooking method, C=Newtons required to break uncooked bacon.

For those who don’t know, they are talking about a BLT – LT = a bacon sandwich.

Update: Don’t miss kitten take-out – breakfast, lunch, and dinner with one visit to the bowl.

I thought force measured in Newtons could only be applied to figs…

Visit a real supermarket, they’ve expanded the line.

That kitten is a heartbreaker. Such eyes. And yes, there are many flavors of “Newtons,” and most of ’em suck. Gimme some Nutter Butters or Oreos and shaddup about it being “health food” or “fruit and cake!”.

There are at least three meals on that kitten’s face, although at that age it’s going to be Momma who gets to eat them.

Oreos aren’t health food? Well, I never.

I love Newtons (the fig and other fruit kind)! The unit of force, on the other hand, I can live without. (I never really liked physics.)

Yes, but this is the formula for cooking bacon properly – not limp, but not so hard it shatters.

Sad, but true, more people think fig rather than Isaac when you say Newton.

Thanks for the link! I am now on day three of the pizza bake-off, with two winners and one loser. To see all the results, click on the ‘pizza’ link at the bottom of the page linked above!

You have a stronger stomach than I do, BT. I like pizza, but not out of a box and not this often.
