"There are two novels that can change a bookish 14-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

He’ll need someone whose French has lapsed tremendously…I volunteer! A lot of it came back after three days in Paris…give me three weeks and M. Kaiyoun (high school French teacher will be delighted).
Hey, way off topic, but Arts and Letters Daily has an article which might interest you. I read it last night and was thinking of you all along.

It’s the the first article in the column “Articles of Note.” I imagine you’ll like it.
Thanx for the article. I flew the Chinese coast when I was in, and they were still in prison. We still used a similar recovery method, involving a cable held aloft by a balloon and jaws on the nose of an HC-130 to grab it on a fly-by. The cable attached to the same type of harness as a parachute. It was definitely an E-Ticket.
I don’t believe I got around to trying brioche last trip. Have to see if I can squeeze some in this time around. Looking forward to getting another look at the gardens at Versailles (this time with actual flowers–and I hope the renovations are done in the Galerie des glaces, too). And depending on what I hear from my hotel in Colmar about extending my reservation a couple of extra days, I may either head east to Germany for a short stay, or head back to Merry Olde England for some more research and a little sightseeing.
I used to spend my time in England sightseeing in bookstores.
