In The News

CNN noticed this story, Calling all witches: Cave in need of new hag, today, that I reported three weeks ago, and reported it after Caroline Bohanan [BBC video link] had won the job. But they did spell Wookey Hole properly, unlike CBS who also ran an article. [No link to CBS because almost everything on their site that didn’t happen inside their building is sourced to the AP.]

This is a real article, about a real traffic accident in Australia: Cucumber truck hits buffalo near jumping crocs. The truck was carrying cucumbers, not shaped like one.

Yes… We have trucks. And Cucumbers. And water-buffalo (as I’ve mentioned in a previous comment a while ago). I told you the Water-buffalo here are dangerous. 😉 A 1-tonne animal can write off a 22-tonne truck! And you think crazed Moose are bad! 😆

I knew that, but for Americans the headline is great. I don’t think you normally have vehicles shaped like food filling the road, but we do, the Oscar Meter “Weinermodile” being the best known.

Trust me, moose are bad, and they are all bad, like a species of Saturday night drunks.

Don’t worry… we are alll laughing here too. (Once we knew the driver is OK). We get kinda used to the wierd stuff that happens here, and as I’ve mentioned, everything that lives here is bloody dangerous when it want’s to be! 🙂

I never met a Moose when I was there, though I was warned on a short trip north about them. The Canacks say the same thing too. 🙂 Maybe we can put a moose and a water buffalo in an arena and sell tickets? 😉 LOL Oooh! Even better… moose, water buffalo and wingnuts! Could start with Cheney & Rove etc. Now that would bring in the crowds, from all around the globe! Need a bloody big arena. 😆 We could make a killing… err… fortune. Ahem. 😉 😆

We’ll make it fair by putting the wingnuts in VW Beetles. For some reason the standard horn on a Volkswagen drives moose insane beyond their normal murderous attitude and as tough as they are a three-quarter ton moose can flatten one.

I saw a program that featured a buffalo round-up in Australia and they used a partially armored Toyota truck to deal with wild bull buffalo. The buffalo didn’t seem impressed and knocked the truck around. It looked like a fair fight to me.

I had only dealt with the domesticated versions in SEA prior to seeing that show.
