Hmm?
Update: what was really going on was all of the last possible minute e-tax filers: TurboTax e-filing woes draw customer ire combined with BlackBerry outage: RIM a victim of its own success?, the e-filing at the IRS site, and the 24/7 over-exposure of the Virginia Tech story. If we weren’t such procrastinators, this wouldn’t have happened. [I “snail mailed” my paper forms on Sunday.]
Steve Bates of Yellow Doggerel Democrat had his DSL go down and then a computer fail.
Global Crossing had an unusual outage on a segment of the Internet backbone.
My DSL was down and the ‘Net was slow.
Mustang Bobby reports the CrackBerry e-mail system failed.
It sounds like a bunch of incompetent amateurs are attempting to delete all records of their e-mails.

ROTFL! Yes, I confess, I had all of Karl Rove’s “missing” emails on my failing computer, but with the hard drive going bad, I’m afraid they can’t be recovered. Now Rove has a new excuse… wait for it…
<grin_duck_run />
…hmmm…
I was wondering why all these kr@gwb43.com emails were showing up in my Lotus Notes account on my work computer; maybe that explains it. I mean, I don’t even care why this ‘kr’ character wants somebody named ‘Mon’ to “get” some guy called ‘Iggy’ in Arizona, and it’s taking up way too much of my allocated e-mail space…
There’s always time for a conspiracy theory.
Funny you shuld mention it but my internet connection was crap all day yestderday. by adding an international dimension can we legitimately blame a cabal of Bohemian Govers, Bilderbergers, Freemasons and the citizens of Andorra??
It was probably planned in Grand Fenwick – you just can’t trust those Fenwickians.
Heh. The virtual world has been impacted by the slow down, too. Everyone in Second Life was kvetching last night about how slow the system was, users both domestic and international.
Rove’s slimy tentacles reach far, although as far as I know, the Bushies haven’t invaded SL — yet.
On the other hand, SL would be the perfect place to hide incriminating email — the database servers are straight from Hell.
:-X
I imagine an army of CrackBerry addicts hitting send and retrieve buttons and a flood of requests going no where until some system administrator gets annoyed and diverts them to device null.
I wondered aloud what Rove did with his time while the BlackBerry email service was defunct.
Here’s a new mystery: in the cookies containing my comment information for your site, my ancient former blog URL reappeared in the Website textbox. This has happened since my comment on this thread this morning. I haven’t intentionally messed with cookies or anything like that. The old site is still there and forwards to the new one, so there is no real harm, but I don’t understand why this happened.
I blame Karl Rove. Rove is the new Bill Clinton: whatever is wrong, it’s Karl Rove’s fault.
That’s weird because the correct current address is displayed for all your comments.
I fixed it before I posted on this thread. But this comment contains the old URL. I am still mystified where it came from.
WordPress shouldn’t be supplying anything, but I wouldn’t notice because I dump cookies every time I shut down. The “forms assist” serves the same function for me.
