I can’t even get The Mighty Fang to keep a collar on. That crap would be off of him before I could even call for the ambulance to take me to the ER to get stitches and a blood transfusion ;).

Perhaps if you hand-raised a kitten and started at about 4 weeks you might be able to do something like that, but I wouldn’t guarantee it.

I dig out my dog tags if I have to handle any of my crew. It has my blood type. Fortunately, it’s AB+ so I can take whatever’s available in a pinch.

ha! I always liked that pic. 😉 And no way I’d try it! LOL

And… speaking of things gay… Did you know that American Bison are mostly gay? 😉 😆

Imagine the death toll if I tried to dress Ted that way!

The American Bison can be just as psychotic as Australian water buffalo unless they are farm-raised. Hey, whatever gets them through the winter. 🙂

See, that’s why Ted can’t become a bishop. Actually, that is a chilling thought, Jams.

My friend got Ollie in a hat once. He was Not happy. And Cheezburger didn’t pick his photo, either….even though it was pretty good!

It’s nice to see the lad up at your place, Moi. I keep seeing pictures of cats in costume, but I’ve never personally seen one. Of course, I’ve never seen a cat that would tolerate the kind of handling that takes place at the shows. I suspect drugs.

i started handling [if you can call reaching under the bed to touch the sleeping pile of kittens ‘handling’] the second crew when they were a couple of days old. probably half of them would let me dress them up with no problem.

I think it is definitely a matter of socialization, and it will probably be easier with cats raise in a household with children that constantly play with them, or with someone who has the time to play with them.

Oh, I should note that even though the kittens spent most of their earlier weeks right beside my desk chair, Ringo did not invite any familiarity with them. She got rather pointed about it at times.

momcat was the opposite of ringo. i couldn’t get anywhere near *her* but she was more than happy to let both me and the dog take turns with the kittens from the beginning. can’t say i blame her, with 10 kittens in 3 or 4 months.

She was obviously more feral than Ringo, and this was Ringo’s first litter. Even when Ringo left to eat or use the litter box, one peep from the peanut gallery and she came flashing through the house.
