Avoiding Reality

Wow, the Republicans really don’t want to admit that the majority of voters don’t like what they are selling.

The pundits are saying that the Rmoney GOTV effort wasn’t good enough. Just over 70% of registered voters in my county voted. With 75K registered Republicans in the county, Money Boo Boo received 70K votes – more that 90% of the total registered Republicans. They voted, but there just aren’t enough of them.

Then they say they didn’t get their message out. Hey, I have a decently-sized mailbox, and it was constantly filled with ‘their message’. They filled the answering machine on my land line with their robo-calls. I listened to a stream of complaints from my Mother over all of the ads being run on TV for months. The problem was that their message did get out, and a majority of voters didn’t like it. It turns out that the normally reliably Republican Cubans, are no longer reliable, because of those who voted on election day, a majority voted for Zero.

The majority of voters in the US are women, and have been for some time. Latinos are the fastest growing demographic in the US. When your “message” specifically attacks women and Latinos you are going to lose a national election. You can’t attack the majority of voters and expect them to support you.

Mustang Bobby found this piece of Republican ‘brain power’ on Tumblr:

Kristen Neel – “I’m moving to Australia, because their president is a Christian and actually supports what he says.”

The Australian prime minister, Julia Gillard, is an atheist who does back most of the goals of the left-wing Labor Party that she leads. She also ‘lives in sin’, and can get worked up over misogyny.

If Ms Neel wishes to go to Australia, she should feel free, but I would warn her that the animal life of the Land Down Under is not very forgiving of people who refuse to accept reality and live in a cloud of ignorance.

Kirsten Neel was pilloried for that tweet. I gather that others went on about moving to Oz. Boy will they be in for a surprise!

I read that Neel deleted her Twitter account after that… ha!

IIRC (and it appears I do), the Land of Oz legally requires you to vote, and fines you if you don’t. I doubt Ms. Neel would be happy to see her freedom thus abridged. Personally, I see compulsory voting as a small price to pay for presumably nearly 100% participation in elections.

I wouldn’t have mentioned it if I had known that she was a high school student, and she did spell ‘Australia’ correctly. I assume that she thought that John Howard was still the Prime Minister, but he went out in 2007. Not only was his party booted out, but he lost his seat in the parliament to the Australian equivalent of Diane Sawyer, Maxime McKew.

The only place for these people to go is Somalia. It is difficult for government to get any smaller than non-existent, and the pirates prove that free enterprise is alive and well.

Steve, I vote whether it is required or not, so I wouldn’t care, and they do have an instant run-off system, so the winner has some support from a majority of the voters. They use open-source software in their election system, so people can see how the votes are counted. All in all a better system than the US.

What a moron. Seriously. Still, she should definitely come on down. The fauna is getting hungry. We need more US immigrants (the fauna’s fave delicacy) 😈

Been watching TDS (duh!) and was amused to see a few items:

* Tammy Baldwin defeating Lindsey Graham (WI)! Talk about ultimate irony! 😆
* quoting Jon: “Florida’s clusterf*chery is irrelevant!” 😉 😆

And the absolute BEST of all:
* FAUX news Megyn Kelly totally lost it (more than once)! 😆

Still, she did get in a good shot when she interrupted Rove as he began one of his flights of speculation early on in the evening. “Is this just math that you do as a Republican to make yourself feel better or is this real?”

Jon was beside himself! 😆 He said that Megyn’s comment would be a much better slogan for FAUX than the one they have now (How true!) 😀

From: The Atlantic Wire:
The Time Karl Rove Took on the Fox News Decision Desk

* The voters of CA voted to increase sales and income tax(for high earners)! (That must have caused a few Rethug’s heart attacks)! They also rejected a referendum to abolish the death penalty. Oh, and Male porn stars must wear a condom during filming! 😆

What else… well, there was a lot actually. Hmmm… Oh yeah, the retarded M Malkin wants to start impeachment against Obama because he lied. It was then pointed out that he shan’t started his 2nd term yet. Of course she began shrieking as she does, that that was irrelevant! I love it when her head explodes when she doesn’t get her way (which is often).

I’ve said it before… I love US elections! The USA would be soooo boring without them! 😉 😈

Ummm… yeah, please send more tourists… The poor fauna are starting to look thin. 😉

Oh, somewhat more relevant perhaps… 😉

This is what our media thought about it:

Confused? So was Kristen Neel

And, looking at her photo, I have to say that she does look like she has the appropriate IQ to be a Rethug. Or a Miss Georgia entrant (same thing). 😉 😆

Some of the comments I like:

“our “president” is a prime minister, is a woman, and is an atheist. I think you meant Antarctica. Move there.”

“Not one word of that sentence is true. I’m not even angry, I’m impressed.”

“USA, may I suggest more funding to Public Education to avoid another Twitter-tragedy in 4 years time.”

Did I mention? I looooove US Elections! LMAO

7 Kryten42 { 11.10.12 at 8:14 am }

OK. One more… ’cause ya just can’t get enough of this! 🙄 😉

From: Perth Now (Sunday Times in Perth, WA):
Fail: Anti-Obama teen wants to move to Australia because we have ‘Christian, male president’

Hmmm. I don’t feel at all depressed now. Really! :lol; Laughter truly *IS* the best medicine.

Thank’s, y’all! 😀

So… here’s a list (a small sampling of true young morons who want to feed our fauna apparently. Remember, this is the furure of the USA right here):

37 People Who Say They’re Moving To Australia If Obama Wins

And, not that I want to discourage them from coming, but in the interest of honesty:

*sigh* My work is done! 😉

I would love to send her a copy of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, arrange a trip to the Sydney Mardi Gras, and finish up with a trip to watch the high-jumping crocs. Those things are as typical of Australia as ‘throwing a shrimp on the barbie’ or being attacked by a Great White while surfing. 😈

It is difficult to claim you are a ‘world leader’ when your elections are filed under Entertainment instead of Politics.

It is difficult to claim you are a ‘world leader’ when your elections are filed under Entertainment instead of Politics.

Unfortunately, to a certain extent having the most guns makes you a “world leader” whether the world is aghast at your politics and the stupidity of your public or not. When the U.S. is spending almost half of world military spending, that’s all the “leadership qualifications” that are needed for the world to take the U.S. very, very seriously.

Yeah, just like North Korea 👿
