Labour Loses in Locals

Labour PartyThe voters in Britain have given Tony Blair a parting gift in the local elections that wasn’t as bad as feared. Fortunately not quite all politics are local in the UK system.

I’ll wait to see what Jams of Poor Mouth has to say about this. From this side of the “pond,” things don’t look good.

Update: Jams says not as bad as it could have been.

Jams has posted. The Guardian of course also has a good article. And it looks as if the Scots had problems with electronic voting equipment of some sort… why does every other nation seem determined to learn the hard way just as we have.

Ach it wasn’t a good night but it wasn’t the annihilation feared by some doom sayers… Brown has a lot of work to ensure a fourth term but it’s not impossible.

A good bit of space between him and Bush would probably help. There are a lot of domestic problems that get overlooked when you are dealing with wars.
