Everyone, foreign and domestic, is reporting on: Feds Arrest Six In Plot Against Army Base:

The defendants, all men in their 20s from the former Yugoslavia and the Middle East, include a pizza deliveryman suspected of using his job to scout out the military base.

“Today we dodged a bullet. In fact, when you look at the type of weapons that this group was trying to purchase, we may have dodged a lot of bullets,” said FBI agent J.P. Weiss.

“We had a group that was forming a platoon to take on an army. They identified their target, they did their reconnaissance. They had maps. And they were in the process of buying weapons. Luckily, we were able to stop that.”

One defendant, Eljvir Duka, was recorded as saying: “In the end, when it comes to defending your religion, when someone is trying attacks your religion, your way of life, then you go jihad.”

The six were arrested Monday night trying to buy AK-47 assault weapons, M-16s and other weapons from an FBI informant, authorities said.

They appeared in federal court Tuesday in Camden and were ordered held without bail for a hearing Friday. Five were charged with conspiracy to kill U.S. military personnel; the sixth was charged with aiding and abetting illegal immigrants in obtaining weapons.

One defendant, Mohamad Ibrahim Shnewer, spoke of using rocket-propelled grenades and other weapons to kill at least 100 soldiers, according to court documents.

But, almost no one noticed: Militia raid targets weapons:

Simultaneous raids carried out in four Alabama counties Thursday turned up truckloads of explosives and weapons, including 130 grenades, an improvised rocket launcher and 2,500 rounds of ammunition belonging to the small, but mightily armed, Alabama Free Militia.

Six alleged members of the Free Militia also were arrested by federal authorities and are being held without bond.

Investigators said the DeKalb County-based group had not made any specific threats or devised any plots, but was targeted for swift dismantling because of its heavy firepower. The militia, which called itself the Naval Militia at one point, had enough armament to outfit a small army.

The group with no weapons other than paint ball guns causes international comment, but the guys will real weapons already in their possession gets ignored. What is the basis for the media’s terror of paint ball guns?

Oh, the guys with the real guns, they were going to kill Hispanics.

Bryan, I hadn’t noticed the Alabama incident yet, because I hadn’t made my periodic visit to the Southern Poverty Law Center web site this week. If anyone deserves the description “terrorist,” those guys do. I’m glad the other group did not obtain guns, but really, which deserves more attention from a legitimate media in a free society? Something is very wrong in the way our media reports such incidents.

The Fort Dix Six are starting to sound like the Miami group, although the seem to have been better financed.

The good ol’ boys are just north of me, and that kind of stuff makes me nervous. They really would start drinking and then start shooting.

Those yahoos over in Santa Rosa county get carried away, but they can be brought up short if you know their families. A call to a couple of older ladies will get you an apology every time. They’re dumb, not evil.

To some extent they feel left behind by the growth and all of the new people coming in to the area. They were happy being country people, but their way of life is gone. The sewing factories are gone and you can’t make it on a small farm.

Some of the people you are apt to see in the woods in Santa Rosa county are AF Special Forces with their stupid paintball club. They were asked to leave the Eglin reservation for making a mess, so I’ve heard they go to Blackwater now.
