"There are two novels that can change a bookish 14-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

Friday Ark #170…
We’ll post links to sites that have Friday (plus or minus a few days) photos of their chosen animals (photoshops at our discretion and humans only in supporting roles). Watch the Exception category for rocks, beer, coffee cups, and….? Visit all the …
Oh such a look of steely determination.. well perhaps not but I would imagine that hind leg saw off at least four tv execs!
Thanks – if nothing else, he was definitely memorable.
Forgot to add – I love Zipster’s color. And the look in the eyes – like he has indeed reached Just The Right Spot.
Purty kitty! Looks some much like Coby.
“[Fleas], release me, let me go…”
Blood-sucking parasites, indeed. It’s time for a resurgence of union power. And Leno can forget about my viewership while he is effectively scabbing.
(Farewell once again to Randy. Sigh!)
You let Zipster hang out with corporate attorneys? 😉
He’s pretty determined when he gets going, Jams. It’s the price of being a feral cat.
He’ll “live” on the ‘Net now, Andante. He’s one of the Korat mixes that are a result of our adventures in Southeast Asia. His dad is a very big tom, but I don’t think Zipster will challenge his size.
Coby is probably a Russian, one of the other “blue” cats, LK, and they tend to be slimmer than the Korats.
Steve, the producers are going to lose many times what the settlement would have cost them. This was stupid, and the advertisers are not going to forget.
He is feral, Jill.
Ferals will eat anything.
Amazingly enough, Аня, they don’t like my neighbor’s extra raw fish. Apparently they aren’t into primitive sushi made with “bait fish”.
I’ve always wondered how cats in the wild know about the joys of tuna. Do they have secret caves in which they stash can openers, or do they have their own fleet of tuna trawlers?
On the other hand, my Koshka really will eat anything. She’s especially fond of V8 juice, spaghetti sauce, yogurt (any flavor), ice cream (ditto), cranberry bread crumbs and sock lint.
Given their general disdain for the water, I have always wondered about fish in general, although the crew doesn’t seem to have a problem with what comes out of cans. The local crew doesn’t like milk either, so I figure that may be the result of a lack of dairy barns.
Koshka does seem to be something of a gourmand among felines although the fondness for tomatoes is beyond my ken.
The technique Zipster shows should be emulated by many. I’m quite of partial to blue/gray cats. Zipster is a beauty.
He has actually become friendly, OWL. I’m hoping to convince him to see the vet, as that really extends a feral’s life. The neutered toms don’t get chased off by the alpha male in the neighborhood.
